Sam Thompson returns to celeb dating app Raya despite ‘not being ready to commit’ just hours after his split from Sam Elishi was revealed – while ex Zara McDermott moves on with Louis Tomlinson

After TopMob disclosed the conclusion of Sam Thompson’s two-month relationship with Sam Elishi, Sam Thompson was observed again using the celebrity dating app Raya.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must share that despite reports suggesting a fading connection with the ‘Made in Chelsea’ star, who at 32, finds himself overwhelmed by his demanding work commitments and thus not yet prepared to embark on a long-term relationship, he was once again venturing out on Thursday in search of the perfect match – his one true love.

For Sam, the new relationship marks his initial public romance following his split with Zara McDermott, aged 28, who is now linked to ex-One Direction member, Louis Tomlinson.

Photos from his account display the television personality participating in Soccer Aid recently, along with snapping shots next to well-known companions, such as his close friend Pete Wicks and fellow contestant on I’m A Celebrity, Marvin Humes.

In March, Sam was spotted on an exclusive app following his separation from Zara. A source had shared with The Sun then that “Sam has been deeply affected by the termination of his relationship. It was particularly challenging for him when he learned about who Zara was seeing.

Despite not being fully prepared to dive into something substantial just yet, Sam’s friends motivated him to take a tentative step forward by testing the waters.

In April, Sam began dating Samie, a well-known figure from Love Island who is 25 years old, and the two of them were later seen passionately kissing following Olivia Attwood’s birthday celebration.

TopMob was informed by a reliable source that the couple chose not to advance their relationship because of their demanding work commitments. In the past few weeks, Sam has successfully completed a grueling 260-mile endurance test and raised more than £1.6million for UNICEF.

2025 started off tough for the previous I’m A Celeb winner, but participating in the massive task—carrying the Soccer Aid match ball from London’s Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford in Manchester—provided him with the concentration required to conquer his challenging beginning.

Following my appearance on Love Island: All Stars earlier this year, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with several brands, taking me on exciting adventures such as a trip to Mykonos, Greece, alongside Space NK, which Samie, a close friend introduced by Sam, and I have been fortunate enough to experience together.

According to a source, the romantic connection between Sam and Samie simply faded away. Initially, they had strong feelings for each other, but their packed schedules often made it challenging for them to enjoy meaningful moments together.

For Sam, his recent relationship marks the first one since his separation from Zara. He seems to prefer focusing on his career for now, rather than entering into another prolonged romantic involvement.

After Samie and Sam parted ways, that decision seemed to be influenced by Sam’s sister Louise expressing her opinion about who Sam should date.

On the Staying Relevant podcast, which was recently honored with an award at the TRIC Awards, Louise expressed her thoughts: “It might be intriguing to consider going on a date with someone who works in a typical profession, not related to media. That could potentially be quite exhilarating.

You could benefit from having someone who challenges you occasionally, someone who isn’t afraid to express their opinions even if they differ from yours, and who won’t let you off the hook for everything. A relationship shouldn’t be all about one person’s way; it should involve compromise and open dialogue.

Louise mentioned, “By the way, if you decide on a path towards fame, could you please find someone who I could connect with. Ideally, they’d be a young, British actress, similar to Emma Watson.

A fan, in response to the ex-Chelsea player’s podcast remarks, expressed that she had never held a strong affection for Zara.

But Louise hit back, saying: ‘I have to interject here. I actually really adored Zara.’

TopMob has contacted Sam and Samie’s representatives for comment. 

According to TopMob, it was disclosed that Sam and Zara parted ways after five years as a couple, choosing to spend New Year’s Day separately following a festive season apart.

Zara found a unique bond with her former boyfriend’s family since her fiancé Ryan, along with his wife Louise and their three-year-old son Leo, reside in close proximity, that is, right next door, in West London.

Previously known for her stint on Love Island, now a documentary producer, was initially seen with singer Louis back in March. Since then, they’ve been vacationing together in Los Angeles and Costa Rica.

Despite the apparent strife surrounding their romantic entanglements, Sam and Louis participated in this month’s Soccer Aid event together.

Videos showing Louis seemingly dismissing Sam spread on TikTok following their match, where the ex-boy band member seemed to scowl and disregard the celebrated Chelsea player upon its conclusion.

As a dedicated follower, upon completing my UNICEF challenge, I found myself experiencing an unusual mix of emotions – never have I been so low and yet so high simultaneously… One aspect I’d like to highlight is that mentally, I can’t imagine a more opportune moment for me to embark on this journey.

On Thursday, I discarded a great deal along that road. Leaving it behind was immensely liberating, one of the most mentally free moments I’ve ever experienced throughout my life.

For quite some time, we pedaled and sprinted, covering the entire length along the Welsh border until we reached Liverpool. Since I’m quite chatty, let me tell you this was no walk in the park; it required immense focus and determination.

For approximately an hour and a half, I traversed that long stretch of road, remaining silent all through it. During this journey, I cycled whilst shedding tears for the same duration, tears cascading down my cheeks as if in a ride unlike any other I’d experienced before.

‘I have never felt so emotionally depleted but also at peace.’
