Sam Thompson goes Instagram official with new girlfriend Talitha Balinska as ex Zara McDermott celebrates her birthday with Louis Tomlinson

Sam Thompson and Talitha Balinska have made their relationship public on Instagram, following reports of their romance earlier in the month.

The 33-year-old Made In Chelsea star revealed their new relationship in early December, seemingly referencing his previous partner, Zara McDermott.

After months of dating, Sam started a relationship with 25-year-old Talitha, a successful DJ from London. They were first introduced by Sam’s friend and business partner, Reza Amiri-Garroussi.

Sam shared a new photo on Instagram showing him happily with his new partner, a musician, as they cuddled close in a lovely picture.

He seemed thrilled to be with her while they had dinner together on Saturday night.

The photo was posted by Reza, who simply shared the snap of the happy couple with no context. 

Zara was getting ready to celebrate her 29th birthday and shared updates on social media, revealing she’d be celebrating with her new boyfriend, Louis Tomlinson of One Direction.

The reality TV star, who now makes documentaries, began dating the musician in March, and their relationship has become increasingly serious. They publicly confirmed they were a couple in August and have been together ever since.

It seems Louis, age 33, has taken his girlfriend away to celebrate her birthday together.

She shared a picture of a beautiful, decorated Christmas tree and announced she was having a wonderful birthday weekend. She excitedly added that she’s turning 29 tomorrow!

Zara and Sam were in a relationship for about five years, starting in May 2019 and ending in December 2024.

Sam was dating Zara, 28, but recently reconnected with Talitha after she unexpectedly appeared as a guest at his concert at the O2 Arena. According to a source at Daily Mail, they quickly became a couple.

On their podcast, Staying Relevant, the TV star told his friend Pete Wicks that he’s now in a relationship and no longer available.

He announced with great excitement that he had a girlfriend, repeating the news twice. Pete jokingly responded that he’d once again been distracted by a romantic relationship.

When asked about proposing to Talitha, Sam said it was very relaxed and low-key. He actually described it as quite uneventful, but explained that was exactly the atmosphere he was hoping for.

I told them I really liked them while we were at dinner, and I even said I’d like to be their boyfriend. Now that it’s out there, I’m suddenly feeling really anxious!

He continued, explaining that he told her he really liked her and felt comfortable being himself around her. He said he didn’t want to date anyone else, and at 33, he wouldn’t pursue a relationship for so long if he didn’t see a future with her. He then asked her to be his girlfriend, and she happily agreed. He responded with a simple, “Great.”

Pete immediately congratulated his friend, noting how much progress he’d made since last Christmas, when Sam and Zara had broken up after five years together.

He expressed their pride and joy that the year had come full circle, and Sam happily exclaimed, “Christmas is back on!”

Showing just how quickly their relationship is growing, Sam shared that Talitha is already close to his family. He’s planning a ski trip with her, his sister Louise Thompson, and her fiancé Ryan Libbey, over the New Year.

In October, Louise, 35, known from Made In Chelsea, seemed to approve of her brother Sam’s new girlfriend, Talitha. She posted a photo of the four of them – Talitha, Sam, Louise, and her four-year-old son Leo – enjoying roasting marshmallows together.

When Pete asked Sam about making his relationship with Talitha public on Instagram, Sam subtly criticized his ex-girlfriend by saying he didn’t see the point of doing so.

Pete just wanted to double-check that there wouldn’t be a Christmas photo of the cats, Talitha, and you all dressed in pajamas inside Santa’s grotto.

Throughout their relationship, Sam and Zara often posted photos together on Instagram. One Christmas, they famously wore matching pajamas and posed for a picture with their cats, Albus and Cedric, in front of the Christmas tree.

You know, Pete and I were chatting, and he was a little worried I’d repeat a past mistake with Talitha. I quickly reassured him that wasn’t my plan at all! I’ve been there, done that, and this time, I’m intentionally going in a completely different direction. I really want to do things differently this time around.
