Sam Stosur’s Adorable Announcement: Second Baby on the Way with Liz Astling!

Sam Stosur has announced that she is expecting her second child.

The Australian Grand Slam winner, 41, shares a daughter, Genevieve, 4, with partner Liz Astling.

Taking to Instagram this week, Sam revealed that her family was set to expand with a cute clip.

The video depicted Sam quickly cleaning off and arranging a stroller and an infant carrier on her outdoor patio.

‘Time to dust off the baby gear,’ the sports star wrote over the exciting vision.

Title for the clip: In the video, Sam verified the information, implying that this occasion, she would be the one bearing the valuable load.

‘We’re so excited for the new addition to our family,’ she wrote. ‘It’s my turn this time.’

Liz gave birth to Genevieve in 2020.

The post received numerous warm greetings from friends, admirers, and supporters, even renowned tennis player Todd Woodbridge among them.

‘Such awesome news Sam, congrats to you and Liz,’ the Tipping Point Australia host wrote.

Lisa Raymond, a previous US tennis champion, extended her warm congratulations saying, “Well done Sammy! I’m thrilled for your success.

Australian champion Nicole Bradtke added, ‘I am thrilled for you, Sam! I hope you’re doing well. Motherhood is simply wonderful.’

Sam and Liz jointly have a two-year-old child named Genevieve, often called Evie, whom they happily brought into their lives in the year 2020.

On June 16, 2020, I couldn’t contain my excitement as I welcomed the newest addition to our family – a beautiful baby girl! I took to Instagram to share the heartwarming news and shower her with love, just like any proud father would.

Sam expressed great delight over her new role as a mother, and found the coronavirus pandemic to be unexpectedly beneficial for her growing family.

The Australian grand slam winner said motherhood has been ‘absolutely amazing’.

Sam remarked, “Difficult moments feel less overwhelming when I gaze upon her small features. The urge to embrace and comfort her for hours is strong. It’s truly astonishing.

But she said she was still adjusting to becoming a mum and all the craziness that comes with it.

She found it somewhat unusual yet, she acknowledged she would adjust. Overwhelmed by its sheer wonder, she expressed this sentiment at that moment.

Through her struggles during the learning phase and countless restless nights, she expressed her gratitude for having sweet little Evie in her life.

During the pause in the WTA tour due to the coronavirus pandemic, it turned out to be a fortunate situation for the tennis player and her companion Liz.

She would typically have spent July in Wimbledon before heading to the US Open the following month.

I found myself immersed in the radiant warmth of motherhood, my partner and our newborn nestled by my side, basking together in this incredible journey.

Sam had the opportunity to join Liz at the childbirth classes and handle the grocery shopping instead of enjoying the experience of motherhood via phone calls while in Europe.

After spending a month with the newborn, Sam chose to stay present as the baby grew, rather than traveling extensively around the globe.

Since Evonne Goolagong Cawley’s historic achievements over half a century ago, Sam is the only Australian woman who has won major championships in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, showcasing her versatility across various formats of professional tennis.

2023 saw the poignant conclusion of her professional tennis journey, marked by a defeat in the first round of the Australian Open’s mixed doubles competition, partnered with Mathew Ebden.

In 2019, I triumphantly claimed the Australian Open women’s doubles title alongside Zhang Shaui. Furthermore, I had the honor of winning the mixed title at Melbourne Park all the way back in 2005, partnering with my fellow countryman Scott Draper.

2011 US Open singles winner additionally secured grand slam women’s doubles titles at the 2006 French Open and Flushing Meadows in both 2005 and 2021. Throughout her career, she held the number one position in doubles rankings for a total of 61 weeks.
