Sam Pang hits headlines worldwide after Rosie O’Donnell’s controversial confession on talk show

Sam Pang is getting international attention after a guest on his show publicly criticized Keanu Reeves, calling him a difficult person to interview.

During Thursday’s episode of Sam Pang Tonight, 52-year-old Australian comedian Sam Pang was interviewing Rosie O’Donnell when he made a remark that visibly surprised the studio audience.

Rosie O’Donnell’s blunt opinion about Keanu Reeves, who is widely known as a kind and friendly celebrity, has quickly spread across news outlets from London to New York.

O’Donnell’s stunning look on Sam’s show has been widely reported, with coverage from publications like The Independent, Us Weekly, and Entertainment Weekly, as well as numerous online sources.

The discussion started when Sam asked the ex-host of The Rosie O’Donnell Show about what she considered her most difficult celebrity interview.

O’Donnell started by asking who was the ‘worst’ guest, then immediately clarified, ‘I really like him, but Keanu Reeves just isn’t very good on talk shows.’

Sam was completely shocked by her answer. Seeing the audience’s stunned reaction, O’Donnell quickly composed himself and offered support to the 61-year-old star of John Wick.

Oh my gosh, I just *loved* Keanu Reeves back then! He was absolutely gorgeous and I was obsessed with everything he was in. But it was so frustrating! He came on my show in ’97, and honestly? He wouldn’t answer a single question I asked! It was amazing to even *see* him, but still… so disappointing that he wouldn’t engage. I was totally starstruck and a little heartbroken all at once!

She explained that she would start by asking Keanu Reeves a simple, ‘How are you?’ and he’d typically just reply with ‘Good.’ Because they were broadcasting live, there was no opportunity to redo the conversation if it didn’t go as planned.

‘I finally said after three minutes, ‘You know, Keanu, it is a talk show. You have to talk.”

She added: ‘So he got the hang of it.’

I’ve been keeping an eye on the buzz around Sam’s interview with O’Donnell, and it’s really taking off! It was posted on Channel 10’s YouTube last night and already has over 78,000 views and nearly 400 comments. People are definitely talking about it!

Fans are excited to see this show available in the US and online! One viewer called it a ‘great talk show’ and praised the fun interview with Rosie, adding they were happy it was on YouTube.

Another viewer called it a happy surprise, saying the YouTube algorithm occasionally recommends really good content.

You can also find the original interview with O’Donnell and Reeves on YouTube, where the host points out to the actor that he wasn’t sharing much.

Reeves chuckled at something she asked, and she playfully reminded him, ‘It *is* a talk show – we have to ask questions!’

Later in the interview, she asked him if he often participated in these types of events, and then, more directly, if he disliked them.

Reeves responded: ‘I’m not comfortable with them, but they’re fun. It’s alright.’

A lot of people commenting on the YouTube video applauded the comedian for encouraging the Matrix actor to share more openly.

One wrote: ‘Rosie really made him feel very much at ease in this interview….’

Someone else commented on Rosie’s talent as a talk show host, saying she was great at making even shy celebrities like Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder feel comfortable and open up during interviews.

The Rosie O’Donnell Show appeared in the US from 1996 to 2002, with a total of 1,193 episodes.
