Britney Spears‘ ex-husband Sam Asghari is opening up about their past relationship.

During an appearance on the Sibling Rivalry podcast hosted by Kate and Oliver Hudson, the 30-year-old actor disclosed the most peculiar element of his relationship with the 43-year-old pop star.

Asghari described the singer’s infamous decade-plus conservatorship a ‘weird’ thing to confront.

The person born in Iran reminisced, ‘One day, I discovered about what conservatorship is, and that’s when I realized, “Hold on a second. I thought I was in America. What do you mean an adult needs approval from their parents?”‘

‘That was the most difficult and weird spiral thing that I’ve witnessed in my life.’

In the podcast discussion, he mentioned that the most helpful action he could take for his former partner at the time was offering assistance.

He said, “In that situation, it seemed appropriate to offer assistance, and that’s exactly what I did – I gave all the help I was able to.

He pondered, acknowledging that the lessons he learned throughout his life needed a delicate touch. For any misstep or ill-timed word could lead to undesirable consequences.

From 2008 to 2021, Spears was under the care of a conservatorship where her father, Jamie Spears, held complete authority over her personal life and professional endeavors.

It’s said that he provided her with a small weekly allowance, made her use birth control, and wouldn’t let her modify her living space, all while imposing numerous limitations on her.

In November 2021, Britney’s guardianship ended, giving her back management over her multi-million dollar assets, control of her profession, and independence in personal matters.

In a shocking court hearing in 2021, the singer claimed that while her father maintains the legal agreement was for her protection, she characterized it as abusive.

For quite some time, Sam and Britney were a couple, having first connected during the filming of her “Slumber Party” music video. They got married in the month of June, 2022.

News emerged in August 2023 that the pair were preparing for a divorce, which was officially concluded in May 2024.

He expressed gratitude and happiness towards the fact that his relationship with Britney, regarding sibling rivalry, occurred.

Back in early January, Asghari expressed to Page Six about his former spouse, “I genuinely hope she thrives. I believe the most crucial aspect of a partnership is being there for each other through thick and thin.

He added, ‘I would love for her to do whatever makes her happy.’

Sam is now in a relationship with real estate agent and stunning beauty, Brooke Irvine, and they made their romance public on Instagram starting from January 1.

Last September, speculations about their relationship began when they were observed together at a park in Los Angeles.
