As a devoted enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I was lucky enough to attend an exclusive event hosted at Ace Hotel Kyoto, where Salomon Sportstyle Japan collaborated with the creative genius Uchida “Uchi” Ryunosuke. Together, they created a limited-edition version of the RX SLIDE 3.0, which they aptly named the “UCHI”.

This collaboration breathes new life into Salomon’s iconic recovery silhouette by incorporating pine needle-inspired graphics and minimalist design elements that truly encapsulate Uchi’s organic design philosophy. Only a limited run of 100 pairs were produced globally, with each pair being generously gifted to select attendees as a surprise – making the “UCHI” an instant collector’s item!

The event took place simultaneously with Ace Hotel’s most recent “SLOW SERIES” workshop, during which approximately 180 individuals participated in a natural dyeing session with Uchi, using pine needle dyes. Highlights of the day included the unveiling of the yet-to-be-released shoes, showcasing a unique blend of craftsmanship and community spirit. The festivities continued into the evening at Stumptown Coffee Roasters, where guests were treated to exclusive cocktails and dishes specially created for the occasion.

Although the shoes aren’t yet up for sale, this high-profile collaboration suggests that there is much more to anticipate from Uchi in the future.
