Sally Lindsay’s “almost perfect” mystery drama releases first-look trailer for new Christmas special

A new trailer is out for the Christmas special of The Madame Blanc Mysteries. The episode will feature Jean White in a race against time to identify a murderer.

Sally Lindsay is back as the main character, an antiques dealer who also solves mysteries. She relocated to the South of France following the passing of her husband, Rory, played by Peter Gaynor.

The next installment of the beloved cozy crime series, created by Lindsay and Sue Vincent, will feature Jean and Dom Hayes (Steve Edge) facing a particularly risky predicament.

What to Read Next

At a fancy Christmas Eve gathering at the Musée de Sainte Victoire, Jean is asked to verify the authenticity of a valuable, antique box that once belonged to Marie Antoinette. He’s joined by Judith and Jeremy Lloyd-James.

In the trailer, Jean is stunned to discover a ticking bomb inside a mysterious box. A hidden message offers a clue to solve the case, and everyone pitches in to help – but someone isn’t telling the truth.

The museum is locked down and a security guard is dead, with only 90 minutes before a bomb explodes. Jean and her team have to solve a code and disarm the bomb before it’s too late. It’s her most dangerous mission yet – will she be able to succeed?

A two-hour holiday special will air on Channel 5 on December 23rd at 8pm. You’ll also be able to watch it on Channel 5’s streaming service.

Vincent will return as Gloria Beauchamp, alongside Alex Gaumond as Chief of Police André Caron and Tony Robinson as Uncle Patrick for the special.

I was stoked to see a bunch of new faces joining the cast too! We’ve got John Thomson from Coronation Street, Kacey Ainsworth who I remember from EastEnders, Raji James from Hollyoaks, and Manjinder Virk, who was awesome in Trigger Point. It’s gonna be a great season with all this talent!

Lindsay explained that this new film is a tribute to the beloved Christmas movie, featuring familiar characters in a unique and unexpected story. While it works as a standalone plot, it’s packed with nods to the original.

This was a big project, and we’re incredibly happy with the result! We can’t wait for our amazing fans to see it, and we’re sending everyone a very Merry Christmas from the team at Sainte Victoire.

The show has been a hit with audiences, and one IMDb user even called it “almost perfect,” highlighting its refreshing focus on older characters and its use of different languages.
