Salem's Seven explained: Who are Agatha All Along's Marvel villains?

As a seasoned gamer and Marvel enthusiast with decades of comics under my belt, let me tell you, the return of Agatha Harkness is nothing short of exhilarating! The ancient witch’s ordeal in Westview has been quite the rollercoaster, but now that she’s self-aware again, it’s time to brace ourselves for the challenges ahead.

As a fervent fan, I’m thrilled to share that Agatha Harkness, the venerable enchantress, has resurfaced among us! For three long years, she found herself ensnared within Westview, the town where Wanda Maximoff once wielded her formidable Hex. In the series WandaVision, Wanda had taken control of the town. Agatha, in her quest to seize Wanda’s unfathomable power, was tricked by the Scarlet Witch and found herself back in the role she had been acting – as Agnes. However, it seems that Wanda outsmarted her in the end!

In my own words as a fan, I find myself drawn back into her story once more, stepping onto the Witches’ Road in pursuit of regaining my lost power. Yet, I know the road ahead won’t be smooth; it’s filled with challenges that threaten those who dare to tread its path. This journey is not just about reclaiming my strength, but a test of survival itself.

In the story of Agatha All Along, Agatha finds herself in a tough spot as she encounters ominous beings capable of altering their shapes that she must overcome with her powers. Indeed, the Salem’s Seven are instrumental characters within this narrative, and if you’re familiar with Marvel lore, you’ll recognize them as formidable adversaries not to be underestimated. Here’s some insight into the latest danger facing the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and why they could potentially be its earliest).

Salem’s Seven connection to Agatha Harkness and Nicholas Scratch

It’s likely you picked up on a mention of Nicholas Scratch within the series “Agatha All Along,” and that connection is purposeful. In the comic books, Nicholas was Agatha Harkness’s son. Known for his ominous presence, he fathered seven children during his stay in New Salem. These offspring would eventually gain notoriety as the group known as “Salem’s Seven.

After taking up the role as governess for Franklin Richards, Agatha is kidnapped by Scratch’s children, an attempt to betray the town. However, this scheme fails when Agatha, with the assistance of the Fantastic Four, manages to defeat the Seven and seize some of their powers. This enables her to halt them from causing further trouble. Yet, as is common in Marvel stories, nothing stays locked away forever, and eventually, the Seven found a means to break free from their enchantment, regaining control over their powers once more.

Salem's Seven explained: Who are Agatha All Along's Marvel villains?

Alright, now that we’ve covered the background of Salem’s Seven and their past interactions with Agatha Harkness, let’s delve into who they truly are as individuals, or should I say entities, and explore their unique abilities. Shall we?

The Salem’s Seven is a team of seven individuals: Brutacus, Gazelle, Hydron, Reptilla, Thornn, Vakume, and Vertigo. These characters have the ability to change into diverse forms, including lion-like humans, fish-people, serpentine beings, and many others. However, Agatha All Along presents some unique transformations for these characters as compared to their typical appearances.

Based on an update from Scarlet Witch Reports published several months ago, it’s anticipated that the members of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Salem’s Seven will possess the ability to metamorphose into creatures such as a Crow, Cicada, Fox, Snake, Rat, Coyote, and Owl. This aligns with our current understanding, since Agatha was previously encountered by several of these animals prior to the arrival of the Seven at her doorstep in Westview.

On occasions when she was shopping with Teen in the mall, a rat scurried past the two of them. After her meeting with Lilia Calderu, she noticed a Crow observing us from afar. And on certain instances, when Teen peered out of Agatha’s house (acting as Agnes), he caught sight of a fox staring directly at him.

The question is: What might happen to Agatha now that Wanda’s spell has been lifted, given her past connections with strange beings and Rio Vidal’s prediction that they would seek her out? Could this potentially bring about the appearance of Agatha’s son, Nicholas, who is also her father? We’ll need to stay tuned to find out.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), The Salem’s Seven have made their appearance, and we can’t wait to find out how they shape the storyline in ‘Agatha All Along’. However, rather than being afraid, let’s be genuinely petrified!
