Sadie Sink and Noah Jupe are all smiles as they make their West End debuts during the press night of Romeo & Juliet

Sadie Sink and Noah Jupe beamed with happiness as they performed in Romeo & Juliet on Tuesday, marking their first appearances in a West End play.

The stars of Stranger Things, 23, and Hamnet, 21, seemed happy with how their performance went during the first curtain call at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

Sadie and Noah’s performance of Romeo and Juliet will continue until June 20th. Although this is a modern take on the classic play, their costumes were inspired by the Regency era, paying homage to the original story’s historical setting.

The Netflix actress looked stunning in a beige dress, with her red hair swept back, as she joined her co-star Noah on stage.

Noah, recently seen acting with Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal in the film Hamnet, wore a completely black outfit, including a sleeveless sweater.

After the show, the main actors celebrated at the opening night party at Quaglino’s, all looking their best.

Sadie fully embraced her role, wearing a beautiful white satin dress and snuggling close to Noah for pictures.

Noah looked sharp for the evening, wearing a grey Miu Miu sweater over a blue shirt and black pants.

Actor Mark Strong, 62, and singer Will Young, 47, were also at the press night to show their support.

Sadie is starting her career on London’s West End stage after gaining fame for her role in the popular Netflix series, Stranger Things, which made her well-known to audiences worldwide.

The show’s fifth and final season premiered in December to a variety of reactions. Sadie Sink returned as Max Mayfield, marking her last time playing the skateboarding character.

She told British Vogue last month that finishing the project felt incredibly relieving and she was excited to share it. She also jokingly wondered if she was simply too overwhelmed to fully process that it was done.

She’s preparing to spend three months in London, where she and Jupe will be playing the roles of tragic lovers in a new version of Shakespeare’s famous play.

The actors said they haven’t quite found their rhythm yet, as they’ve only had two rehearsals together.

You know, Sadie and I had a chemistry read – it felt like we talked for a full hour! And that was actually only the second time we’d met, which is kind of crazy when I think about it.

Jupe mentioned they did a complete photoshoot, explaining the promotional posters now displayed in London’s tube stations.

Noah initially didn’t want to audition for the part, but changed his mind after hearing about director Robert Icke’s innovative and modern approach to the story.

Sadie also mentioned she was hesitant about performing Shakespeare, worrying that there was only one correct interpretation of each role.

The Stranger Things actor praised Rob’s ability to update Shakespeare’s work, saying it enhances the original stories.

To be honest, Shakespeare never really appealed to me before I met him. I definitely didn’t grow up dreaming of playing Juliet or anything like that.

After rereading it, and considering Rob’s perspective, I realized this was something I really wanted—and needed—to do at this moment.

Noah added: ‘When I first got the audition through, I was like ”Romeo and Juliet, again?”

It’s something people do all the time, but after just a few minutes talking to Rob, I realized this situation would be totally different and original.
