Sadie Frost Ditches A-Listers for Yoga: Her Anxiety Battle & Newfound Peace

In the ’90s, she was frequently seen within the circle of prominent party-goers, sharing company with figures such as Kate Moss, Meg Matthews, and Davinia Taylor.

Currently, about three decades after, at the age of 59, Sadie Frost has opted for leggings and fitness instead of gowns and dancing, choosing to be recognized as a yoga instructor and film director.

This woman, once known as a popular socialite and currently a mother of four and a grandmother, not only counted high-profile celebrities among her circle of friends at glamorous parties, but she also tied the knot with both British heartthrob Jude Law and Spandau Ballet’s guitarist Gary Kemp.

In a recent chat, Sadie opened up about her wild party phase, sharing that this lifestyle not only affected her socially but also took a toll on her physical health. Over time, she developed both anxiety and asthma issues.

Now, she’s giving credit to yoga for aiding her in controlling her anxiety and panic episodes. She links this benefit partially to her early-life lung condition, Bronchiectasis.

She shared with OK Magazine about her evolving relationships: “Previously, I used to function within a group or circle of friends. Now, although I maintain some strong friendships, I also value and appreciate spending time alone.

She mentioned that she’s had difficulty managing specific breathing scenarios due to her asthma, which often led to feelings of worry or fear.

For me personally, maintaining a routine that includes yoga, meditation, proper nutrition, and controlled breathing has been crucial. If I neglect these practices and find myself disconnected from myself or my breath, I risk becoming an imbalanced and dissatisfied individual.

Later, she shared that she had formed a circle of yoga companions and maintained a strong connection with her oldest friends such as Zoe Grace, Frances Ruffelle, and Rosemary Ferguson.

In 1987, Sadie first appeared on the big screen in Empire State, yet it wasn’t until she played Lucy Westenra in Francis Ford Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula in 1991 that she became widely recognized and a familiar face in many homes.

Throughout the 1990s, she also appeared in several music videos, including Pulp’s Common People. 

During that period, she was an influential member of the social circle known as the vibrant Primrose Hill crowd, which included Donna Air, the Gallagher siblings, Jude Law, Patsy Kensit, and Jonny Lee Miller, all residing in north London at the time.

Lately, her interest has moved from social gatherings to a profound dedication towards yoga. Frequently, she journeys to India to enhance her understanding of the Jivamukti technique.

At present, Sadie is reveling in significant triumph as the director of the highly praised documentary movie titled “Twiggy,” which delves into the life and career journey of the renowned British figure Dame Twiggy Lawson.

She’s put in a lot of effort to achieve this, but she attributes her ability to truly savor it to her focus on health and wellness.

Apart from excelling in her career, she is also cherishing her newfound role as a grandmother to Daya Wildrose Mallory Kemp, who is the child of her eldest son Finlay and his spouse Charlotte Mallory.

In addition to four children, she has three more children – a son named Rafferty (age 28), a daughter called Iris (age 24), and the youngest, Rudy (age 22) – with her former partner Jude.

Additionally, for a span of eight years, she had a fluctuating romantic involvement with the entrepreneur Darren Strowger. However, Sadie recently clarified in an interview that she is currently unattached.
