Sacked Masterchef star Gregg Wallace vows ‘I will not go quietly’ and accuses the BBC of ‘uncorroborated tittle-tattle’ as 50 more sexual misconduct allegations come to light

After undergoing a nine-month investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct, Gregg Wallace has been let go from his position on BBC’s MasterChef, with an additional 50 individuals coming forward with new accusations against him in the wake of these developments.

The television host criticized the company yesterday, stating that he was exonerated from the gravest and most dramatic allegations.

However, according to BBC News last night, an additional 50 individuals have come forward with new accusations against him. Among these allegations are claims that he inappropriately touched a staff member from MasterChef and exposed himself to another person. Wallace has stated that he rejects these accusations.

In November, the 60-year-old chose to leave the show as allegations of past misconduct made by 13 women were being looked into.

Before the publication of the comprehensive report, carried out by Lewis Silkin law firm on behalf of Banijay UK, Wallace expressed his concerns on social media. He wrote, “After 21 years of devoted service to the BBC, I find it unacceptable to remain silent while my good name is tarnished in order to protect others.” He further clarified that the most damaging accusations (even those made by public figures which were eventually proven false) were determined to be groundless following a thorough and detailed six-month investigation.

He accused BBC News of ‘uncorroborated tittle-tattle‘ in its reporting.

A trusted individual revealed that Wallace was exonerated from the most significant accusations made by Penny Lancaster and Kirsty Wark. According to him, he acknowledged that some of his humor and choice of words, at certain instances, were not suitable, for which he expressed sincere apologies without any hesitation.

I was employed by both the BBC and MasterChef in the role of the friendly vegetable vendor, known as Wallace. He emphasized that he is a genuine individual, full of charm, personality, imperfections, and authenticity.

I’ve been a die-hard fan for more than two decades, and I’ve always admired the genuine spirit that defined this brand. But now, in today’s polished world, it seems that very essence which made it unique, is being perceived as an issue.

He claimed that the corporation was spreading unfounded and exaggerated rumors, disguising them as fact-checked news.

New claims brought to light by BBC News involve lewd sexual remarks, and 11 women who allege improper sexual misconduct on his part, including unwanted groping and touching. One unnamed woman claimed he exposed himself in a changing room, behaving in what she termed as ‘offensive and aggressive.’

While another said she was left feeling ‘absolutely horrified’ and ‘quite sick’ when he groped her.

After receiving a diagnosis of autism, Wallace made a firm declaration: ‘I won’t fade away.’ He has decided not to publish the comprehensive 200-page report, instead opting for the BBC to release an abridged summary tomorrow. This decision follows nine months since the examination into his conduct on the popular BBC1 cooking program was initiated, and invites individuals who have collaborated or featured with Wallace to share their encounters.

Thirty complaints of historical misconduct made by women (originally thirteen) were probed, with figures such as Ms. Wark and Ms. Lancaster voicing their opinions publicly.

Additionally, it has been suggested that he was also absolved in other areas, such as using seemingly disrespectful nicknames among staff members, which some found offensive, and displaying directness towards contestants, a behavior that the investigative group claims was often unintentional.

Yet, there have been claims substantiated, among them the assertion that he covered his lower body with a sock and cheered loudly while opening his locker room door, exclaiming “hooray”.

Last night, a representative from the BBC stated unequivocally that Wallace was not one of their employees. Furthermore, they mentioned that Banijay UK has engaged Lewis Silkin, a legal firm, to conduct an investigation into accusations against Gregg Wallace. The BBC has decided to refrain from commenting until the investigation concludes and its findings are released publicly.
