Sabrina Carpenter's lip sync denial slammed by body language expert who reveals the telltale sign she isn't always singing live

As a seasoned music enthusiast with decades of concert-going under my belt, I must say that Sabrina Carpenter’s performance on The Tonight Show was nothing short of electrifying. The energy she exuded during her rendition of Espresso was palpable, and it was evident that she was living in the moment.

A well-known expert in body language and linguistics has debunked Sabrina Carpenter’s denial that she lip syncs during performances, citing the telltale sign of her performance being the movement of her diaphragm as evidence.

25-year-old artist famed for her Espresso hits faced criticism not long after the launch of her Short n’ Sweet Tour, following allegations by a TikTok user that she was lip syncing during her performance of Please Please Please. A video of this incident has since gone viral.

Sabrina retorted by asserting that she performs live at every single one of her shows without exception, then inquired if her doubters would care to converse with her audio technicians.

However, contrary to belief, Dr. Lillian Glass, an expert in body language and communication consulting who has worked on court cases at both federal and state levels, remains unconvinced. She asserts that the singer’s actions in the TikTok video exhibit ‘clear indications of lip syncing’.

In an exclusive report to DailyMail.com, Dr. Glass stated that Sabrina Carpenter is miming her performances during her tour. A key clue is her incorrect use of the diaphragm while singing. Unlike a genuine singer, you won’t notice any muscle tension in the diaphragm region when she holds a note.

‘If she was singing those notes, her belly would be pushed out more and it is not.’

I proceeded to add: ‘Moreover, there seems to be a slight discrepancy in timing. It’s evident as her mouth movements don’t align perfectly with the audio being played. However, when she genuinely sings, the volume noticeably amplifies, indicating a distinction between spoken and sung words.’

I too notice that her vocal inflections don’t last for very long, giving it a somewhat robotic feel. This suggests to me that the audio might be pre-recorded and synced later, which is often indicative of lip-syncing.

Sabrina’s body language on stage is also indicative of lip syncing, according to Dr. Glass.

In her observation, Sabrina seems to be out of sync with the beat, and her movements while returning the microphone to her lips appear abrupt or uncoordinated.

Dr. Glass recommended that the singer should work harder, aiming to become as polished as Taylor Swift, a seasoned professional – with whom she shared stages during multiple stops of the Eras Tour as an opening act.

According to Dr. Glass, Sabrina might improve her lip-syncing skills by gaining more experience and proper training, as she currently lacks the subtlety in this area that a veteran artist like Taylor demonstrates through well-developed breath control and simultaneous singing and dancing.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it this way: “I, much like Sabrina, strive for peak physical condition, emulating the rigorous training regimens of professional athletes. This commitment is evident in my performance, as even during live presentations, fatigue sets in swiftly.

A short while following the commencement of Sabrina’s Short n’ Sweet Tour last week, a TikTok user shared a fan-made clip of one of her concerts and inquired, “Is she actually singing live?

A different representative shared the video and answered the query, stating: ‘Unfortunately, it seems that about 30% of this performance is lip-syncing, another 30% involves a backing track, while 40% appears to be actual singing.’

The blistering accusation caught Sabrina’s attention, and she defiantly commented: ‘I sing live every show 100% would you like to speak to my audio engineers.’

Despite being unconvinced, the social media user suggested that Sabrina should ask the sound team to reduce the level of the background voice as it seemed excessively loud.

On Thursday, while performing her popular song Espresso on The Tonight Show, the singer dismissed allegations that had been made against her, as she was in a relationship with Irish actor Barry Keoghan at the time.

During her performance, between verses, she said, ‘Holy…’ before singing on Jimmy Fallon’s desk.

Enthusiasts promptly commended the singer on the TikTok forum, standing up for her when faced with accusations of lip-synching.

1 User expressed affection for the adorable Polly Pocket figure, saying, “I absolutely love this cute Polly Pocket!” Another user shared their admiration for a different aspect, stating, “The lipstick-wielding microphone character feels incredibly authentic. I have such a deep affection for her.

A third said: ‘Sabrina totally crushed it! Vibes are immaculate.’

As a devoted fan, I embarked on my tour, which was in celebration of my Short n’ Sweet album, right here in Columbus, Ohio, on the 23rd of September.

Previously this week, she responded to those criticizing her revealing performance attire by saying: “Please stay away from the concert.

In her interview for TIME Magazine’s TIME100 Next list, she expressed: ‘It’s regrettable that this has been a subject for criticism, because in actuality, the most terrifying thing is standing on stage before such a large audience and having to deliver a flawless performance as if it were ordinary.’

If feeling comfortable with your attire is key to achieving something, then it’s essential that you dress accordingly.

Sabrina debuted on Disney, publishing four albums through Hollywood Records from 2015 to 2019, while also starring in movies such as Adventures In Babysitting, The Hate U Give, Tall Girl, and The Short History of the Long Road.

As I transitioned to Island Records in 2021, I eagerly released my debut album with them titled “Emails I Can’t Send” the following year. In the exciting news of 2023, it was announced that I would be gracing stages as the opening act for the Eras Tour, performing across various dates in Latin America, Australia, and Singapore.

For the first time, Espresso reached the top spot on the UK Singles Chart for Carpenter, whereas Please Please Please is now her initial number-one hit on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The most recent album titled “Short n’ Sweet” climbed to the top of the Billboard 200 chart and was awarded a platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Sabrina’s rise to fame occurred following whispers about Sabrina ending her relationship with Irish actor Barry Keoghan due to his lively party habits.

According to a source, Barry exhibits foolish behavior when he’s intoxicated, and Sabrina found herself growing more and more annoyed as a result.
