Sabrina Carpenter shows off her toned legs in a knitted yellow mini dress as she enjoys a night out in New York

She’s had a hectic schedule since the release of her latest album Man’s Best Friend.

Sabrina Carpenter had a fun night out in New York City on Tuesday, having dinner with friends. She looked great, showing off her legs in a fashionable outfit.

Okay, let’s talk style! I just spotted the singer, who’s only 26, and she absolutely nailed it at Austin City Limits. She was wearing this adorable, cozy-looking yellow knit mini dress, and honestly, it was a perfect festival look. So cute and comfy!

She embraced the autumn fashion season by pairing a comfortable knit sweater with nude heels for added height and long yellow socks.

She completed her look with a coordinating Chanel quilted bag and styled her blonde hair in its signature curls.

As Sabrina left the restaurant in Midtown, she was surrounded by enthusiastic fans. She even took the time to sign autographs for those who had been waiting to see her.

This outing happened shortly after she faced criticism for seemingly downplaying post-traumatic stress disorder in her latest song.

The hugely popular singer, known for her memorable songs and skillful songwriting, is facing criticism for her latest release, “Nobody’s Son.”

PTSD UK expressed disappointment with the singer’s choice of words in a message to her and her record label.

I’ve been completely hooked on Sabrina’s new album, ‘Man’s Best Friend,’ and one line in particular really stands out. She sings about someone who’s deeply damaging, saying ‘That boy is corrupt, get PTSD on the daily,’ and honestly, it’s so raw and relatable – it really hits home.

After the popstar’s comments went viral on platforms like TikTok, the charity decided to send her and her team a letter.

The recently published open letter pointed out that the lyric ‘get PTSD on the daily’ is a misleading and inaccurate representation of post-traumatic stress disorder.

They claim the line may imply that PTSD is something like a bad mood that you can ‘get’ casually.

They feel the song simplifies a serious, often lifelong issue, turning it into something easily remembered but ultimately trivializing it.

Critics have also expressed concern about how PTSD is portrayed in popular culture, arguing that overuse in unimportant situations diminishes its seriousness when it’s actually relevant.

According to a representative from PTSD UK, some people might see the lyric as a way to express emotional distress, not as a direct connection to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. They acknowledge the possibility of a metaphorical interpretation.

Some people argue this kind of language just mirrors how we commonly discuss trauma or PTSD, or that artists shouldn’t have limits placed on their creativity.

‘However, it’s important to recognise that words shape culture.

Using terms for serious mental health conditions lightly or incorrectly can worsen misunderstandings and prejudice, and it can downplay the real struggles of people living with PTSD or complex PTSD.

Creative expression is important, but artists also have a duty to avoid reinforcing damaging stereotypes or spreading false information about health and medical issues.

‘PTSD is not something to be trivialised or used as a synonym for ‘a bad experience’.

‘It’s a serious mental health condition that can have devastating and lifelong consequences.

It’s especially upsetting to hear this type of message in a song by a well-known artist, particularly because they have many young fans who are easily influenced.

The Daily Mail have contacted Sabrina’s representatives for comment.

PTSD UK spoke out after Sabrina revealed she’s faced confusion, hostility, and mockery from men, and often feels she needs to educate them on how to behave. This came after she publicly criticized her former partner, Barry Keoghan.

The popular singer shared her thoughts on men in a Vogue Italia interview, describing them as a fascinating and often amusing group due to their actions.

Sabrina’s fascination with men inspired her latest album, ‘Man’s Best Friend,’ and she admits she still has mixed feelings about them.

The singer and actor Barry were in an on-again, off-again relationship from December 2023 to late 2024.

Whenever a friend tells me she’s having a boy, I’m thrilled! I’m confident he’ll be raised well.

I might be wrong, as I haven’t lived very long, but it seems like we’ve always had to guide or teach them. It’s a problem that’s happened throughout history.

I’ve always found men to be a fascinating group to observe, with both admirable and frustrating qualities. Some have made me feel cherished, motivated, and loved, while others have left me feeling puzzled, hurt, and belittled.

She continued by saying that finding humor in awkward or uncomfortable situations is an important part of life, at least for her personally.

Growing up, I always relied on my quick wit – and sometimes just humor – as a way to cope and protect myself, always thinking about the future.
