Sabrina Carpenter looks unrecognisable in throwback snap from seven years ago as fans call her rebranding ‘wild’

Sabrina Carpenter looks unrecognisable in a throwback snap with singer Zara Larsson.

People online are calling the recent changes in the 26-year-old pop star’s image ‘daring’ after an old photo from 2017 resurfaced.

This photo was taken at Milan Fashion Week in 2018, and it really highlights how much the singer has changed over the years.

Sabrina looks very different from her usual glamorous style. Instead of revealing clothes and a big, blonde hairstyle, she’s wearing a classic black suit with heels, and her hair is now a darker blonde, pulled back into a sleek, high ponytail.

The singer, known for her song ‘Espresso,’ is also showing off a new makeup style, opting for dramatic eyeliner instead of her usual rosy cheeks and red lipstick.

People online were quick to notice the actress’s new look and shared their thoughts on Reddit. One user wrote that her shift in style was surprising, but in a good way, adding that she’d really found a look that suits her.

‘Pre-Short N Sweet (aka pre-bangs + glam) Sabrina is wild to look back on’;

She looks quite different now, but I think it’s simply because she’s grown up – it’s a natural change, and the addition of bangs also makes a difference.

‘Yes styling is EVERYTHING! Went from cute high school girls to SUPERSTARS’;

‘Sabrina looks so pretty this way, I love her stage persona too, but this fits her so well.’

The announcement follows news that Sabrina will be starring in a major Hollywood film.

The movie is the beloved musical, Alice In Wonderland, and the role demands the performer to be both an actor and a singer, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Sources told the publication the movie is a ‘passion project’ for the global pop icon.

The movie is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic story about a girl named Alice. She tumbles down a rabbit hole and finds herself in a whimsical world filled with strange and funny creatures.

This story has been adapted for the screen several times, including the classic 1951 Disney animated film, the 2010 movie starring Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska, and its 2016 follow-up, Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Lorene Scafaria, the director of the new film, previously worked with Jennifer Lopez, getting a fantastic performance out of the singer in her movie Hustlers, which tells the story of strippers.

Scafaria is rewriting Alice in Wonderland, and the story will likely appeal to Gen Z, given the main character, Sabrina, is 26 years old.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! This singer is making their big-screen debut in a major studio movie – a musical, no less! Universal Pictures is behind it, and while we don’t have a release date just yet, trust me, this is going to be a huge production. I’m already anticipating a spectacular cinematic experience!

Alice chases the White Rabbit and falls down a rabbit hole, tumbling into a strange and fantastical world. There, she encounters peculiar creatures and frequently finds herself growing or shrinking to different sizes.

The story features memorable moments like a whimsical Mad Tea Party, a strange croquet match with the Queen of Hearts, and Alice’s unexpected role as a witness in the trial of the Knave of Hearts.

The story reaches its most exciting point when the Queen demands Alice’s execution, but Alice wakes up right as the card soldiers rush towards her.

Sabrina is already a seasoned actress. She began her career at age 12 with an appearance on Law & Order: SVU.

After that, she guest-starred on popular shows like Phineas and Ferb, Sofia the First, Orange Is the New Black, Austin & Ally, and Adventures in Babysitting.

From 2014 to 2017, the actor starred in 72 episodes of ‘Girl Meets World’ alongside Danielle Fishel.

In 2022 the star was in the movies Emergency and Tall Girl 2.
