Sabrina Carpenter gets cheeky as she announces new album, ‘Man’s Best Friend’

It’s clear that Sabrina Carpenter is keeping herself quite occupied! Not long after dropping “Short n’ Sweet,” she’s already gearing up to release another album, following her hit single “Espresso.

On Wednesday morning, the carpenter shared on Instagram that her upcoming album titled “Man’s Best Friend” will be released on August 29. The cover art, which has sparked debate due to its provocative nature, depicts the singer posed on all fours in front of a man tugging at her hair. To add humor and emphasize the play on words, she also posted an up-close image of a dog whose collar bears the album title.

Last week, the carpenter shared a sample of his upcoming work titled “Manchild”. This twangy synth-pop song, co-written with Amy Allen and Jack Antonoff following the completion of “Short n’ Sweet”, finds the singer contemplating questions such as, “Why so attractive if so ignorant? / And how have you endured on Earth for so long?” Critics have drawn parallels between this single and her earlier releases, namely “15 Minutes” and “Busy Woman,” both of which were released this year.

Entertainment & Arts

On Tuesday, the pop star revealed that her new song titled ‘Manchild’ is set for release by the end of this week.

Carpenter described “Manchild” as feeling like a song that expresses a loving yet sarcastic sentiment, and is akin to being on an endless summer road trip. Therefore, he wanted to share it with others early so they could enjoy it by pretending to yell it out of car windows all summer long!

The song “Manchild” is matched with a lighthearted music video where the artist is depicted as hitchhiking with different bumbling males, along with scenes of her washing alongside pigs while only wearing a bra and underwear. Additionally, viewers have noticed that the dog in this video could potentially be identical to the one featured in the album cover reveal.

During a recent Instagram Live session, it appears that Carpenter was delving into the music of ABBA, Donna Summer, and Dolly Parton, suggesting potential sources of inspiration as reported by Variety. Notably, she recently performed “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls during her headline set at Primavera Sound Barcelona last weekend, and also debuted “Manchild” live for the first time at this event.

This autumn, Carpenter will be back in North America for another round of her Short n’ Sweet Tour. The tour concludes with six consecutive nights at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena from November 16th to the 23rd. Fans might look forward to some fresh tracks being added to the playlist.
