Sabrina Carpenter fans go ballistic as Kidz Bop turns her racy hit into a squeaky-clean family-friendly anthem

Sabrina Carpenter’s fans are surprised and amused that Kidz Bop has turned one of her most suggestive songs into something suitable for children.

Initially, a lot of people on TikTok thought the audio they were hearing was a fake created using artificial intelligence, because of the song’s very suggestive lyrics.

It’s now confirmed that the children’s music series removed the suggestive lyrics from the pop star’s song, ‘Tears.’ They replaced references to intimacy and arousal with lyrics promoting ‘responsible’ actions.

Influencer Ben Kearney shared a funny reaction to the Kidz Bop cover of ‘Tears for Fears’ song, saying he ‘jumped out of bed’ when he first heard it, which helped the discovery spread quickly online.

His reaction video on TikTok, alone, has racked up more than 5.3 million views and 615,900 likes.

To censor the mature lyrics, Kidz Bop radically rewrote the song’s most suggestive lines.

In the song, Carpenter sings about being deeply affected by someone, expressing vulnerability with the lines, ‘I get wet at the thought of you / Treating me like you’re supposed to do / Tears run down my thighs.’

The Kidz Bop version changes the original lyrics to sound like a reward for good behavior. Instead of romantic feelings, it’s like saying, ‘I’m happy you’re being responsible, it makes me feel good!’ with lines like, ‘I just smile thinking about you being a responsible guy, it even makes me cry!’

The updated song now celebrates everyday skills instead of offering intimacy in return for help around the house.

Originally, Carpenter said, ‘A little communication… that’s my ideal foreplay.’ It’s now been updated to, ‘A little communication… yes, that’s my ideal of the day.’

Her playful, suggestive comments during the Ikea furniture assembly changed from hesitant and flirtatious – like saying ‘Uh’ – to confident and enthusiastic, more like a cheerful ‘Yeah!’

Fans have expressed disappointment with the new version, saying it not only eliminates any suggestive content but also completely changes the song’s original message.

What used to be a steamy and suggestive portrayal of romance has transformed into a charming depiction of considerate partners who pitch in with chores.

As expected, the reaction online has been immediate and unfiltered.

A lot of people who listen to Kidz Bop think the group has gone too far, creating songs that sound like outright parodies.

People were reminded of the group’s past controversy, specifically their attempt to censor Cardi B’s 2020 song, ‘WAP.’ One fan expressed their disbelief, saying, ‘I figured they would have learned from what happened with ‘WAP.’’

People were puzzled by Kidz Bop’s decision to cover “Tears,” with some playfully suggesting they could have chosen any other song.

Honestly, it’s driving me crazy! I saw someone online say it so perfectly – some songs just mean something, you know? They have a real meaning, and Kidz Bop just ruins it trying to make it ‘safe.’ It’s like, leave those songs alone! Seriously, someone needs to put a stop to it, it’s awful!

Viewers who were particularly upset called the adaptation ‘terrible’ and demanded money for the emotional pain it caused them.

Others said that sanitizing sexual songs while keeping their context is ‘insane and creepy.’

Many people found the sudden change in mood confusing, joking that Sabrina Carpenter’s style and Kidz Bop just didn’t fit together.

A TikTok user jokingly pointed out that making something suitable for kids doesn’t erase people’s memories of the original version.

Some listeners found the updated lyrics amusingly bad, but most felt they just made the song feel even stranger.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Carpenter but hasn’t received a response yet.
