Sabrina Carpenter had a special experience when she met her musical hero, Sir Paul McCartney, backstage at one of the last shows on his tour. It was a full-circle moment for her, as she’s admired him for a long time.
A photo on Instagram shows singer McCartney, 26, happily posing with Beatles icon Paul McCartney, 83. This comes less than a year after she publicly revealed on TV that she had a childhood crush on him.
While posing for a photo, Carpenter relaxed and leaned against the musician, who put a comforting arm around her shoulders.
Paul McCartney, looking relaxed and happy with his wife, Nancy Shevell, wore a simple but sharp outfit: a crisp white shirt under a black vest.
Carpenter appeared equally radiant in a cream turtleneck sweater and light trench coat.
Her bright blonde hair styled in perfect loose waves and her makeup soft and glowy at his show.

She left a short review below the post, writing simply, ‘best show ever’ followed by three white heart emojis.
This special moment happened after Carpenter shared how much Paul McCartney meant to her growing up, during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last December.
She shared that her father first played her the song ‘Rocky Raccoon’ when she was a little girl, and she was immediately captivated by it. That experience sparked her lifelong admiration for Paul McCartney and his songwriting.
The singer of “Please Please Please” confessed she developed a strong infatuation with Paul McCartney, even fantasizing about a relationship with him, unaware of their significant age difference – he was 57 years her senior.
She chuckled, recalling how she once thought he was ‘the one.’ ‘I was so naive,’ she explained. ‘He was significantly older, but I didn’t realize it at the time. I was young and just looking at pictures, and convinced myself he wasn’t that much older – maybe only ten years! I just didn’t have a good grasp of numbers back then, I was just a kid.’
Carpenter said she instantly started crying when she first met McCartney at the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year gala.
She said her eyes welled up with tears because McCartney was incredibly down-to-earth, relaxed, and genuinely charming.
She explained the experience felt like stepping into another world – almost like the eerie alternate dimension from ‘Stranger Things,’ but much more cheerful.

Carpenter has continued to show her appreciation for McCartney and his work.
Recently, she was seen wearing a classic Wings T-shirt when she found out she’d been nominated for six Grammys for her incredibly popular album, Man’s Best Friend.
You know, one thing I’ve always been so impressed by with Paul McCartney is his incredible ability to make everyone feel truly valued. He has a way of really seeing and hearing people, and honestly, he’s one of the most inspiring people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. It’s a beautiful quality, and something I really strive for in my own life – making connections where everyone feels acknowledged and respected.
This month, the former Disney Channel wrapped up her 14-month Short n’ Sweet Tour in Los Angeles.

It marked her first-ever sold-out arena tour and included 72 stops across North America and Europe.
She shared on Instagram last week that this project was a lifelong dream come true. She loved that the set felt like a real home and working with such kind, talented, and dedicated people brought so much joy and created hilarious, memorable moments. She admitted she’s deeply feeling the emotions that come with the show ending.
She shared that the tour was incredible, with every show selling out at venues she’d always dreamed of playing. She said the fans reminded her every night why she loves her job and feels so fortunate to do it. She even joked that she’ll probably look back on this tour when she’s older and wish she could relive it just one more time, go-go boots and all.
Carpenter emphasized that every aspect of the show was crafted with passion, fun, imagination, and a desire to create a memorable experience for the audience, offering a glimpse into her creative process.
