S8UL enters MLBB Esports, acquires NA team BloodThirstyKings for MSC 2025

S8UL acquires the NA Team BloodThirstyKings for the upcoming EWC 2025 MLBB event MSC 2025.

S8UL Esports has made its debut in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) competitive scene by purchasing North America’s top team, BloodThirstyKings (BTK). But here’s a surprise twist: their renowned and sometimes controversial captain, Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun, will not be part of the primary roster. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t return in the future!

The renowned Indian esports organization, S8UL, stands as a significant player in its region. The strategic takeover of BTK serves as a prelude to the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, specifically the MLBB Mid Season Cup.

S8UL acquires NA top dogs BloodThirstyKings

In a new turn of events, India makes its entrance into the competitive Mobile Legends: Bang Bang scene, with S8UL aiming to join the MSC 2025 tournament. This move is facilitated by their acquisition of the North American team that used to be known as BTK. This team has recently clinched victory in the North America Challenger Tournament (NACT) Spring 2025.

The team roster is as follows:

  • EXP Lane: Ian “FwydChickn” Hohl
  • Mid Lane: Jang “Hoon” Seong-hun
  • Gold Lane: Ziameth-Jei “ZIA” Caluya
  • Roamer: Vo “Shark” Trung
  • Jungler: Carlos “Bestplayer1” Ortega Vega
  • Sub / Jungler: Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun

Who are the BloodThirstyKings in MLBB?

In a notable turn of events at the M3 World Championship, underdogs BTK made headlines by overcoming Blacklist International – who were then reigning champions – in the playoffs, relegating them to the lower bracket. Despite this impressive victory, BTK eventually placed third in the world championship tournament, suffering defeat against another Filipino team, ONIC Philippines, in the final match.

Ever since that point, the team has continued to be a steady fixture within the North American Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) eSports circuit. Yet, they’ve faced challenges in reclaiming the supremacy they displayed at M3 in the latest global competitions.

In a tough matchup against Area 77, BTK clinched the NACT 2025 title last year, securing victory with a final score of 4-2. As BloodThirstyKings gear up for the MSC 2025 tournament, S8UL anticipates they could make a significant impact and establish themselves in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports community.

Why is MobaZane not in the main BTK lineup for MSC 2025?

If you’ve kept up with BTK’s journey, you may have come across its team captain MobaZane – a figure well-known in the North American Mobile Legends: Bang Bang community. He is widely regarded as the scene’s most influential player, and some enthusiasts argue that the NA esports scene would be less vibrant without him because of his knack for creating drama, whether it stems from deliberate actions or not.

Lately, it appears that MobaZane has taken a break from the BTK team. At present, he’s serving as a backup player. However, certain team members have hinted that his enthusiasm for the game might be waning.

During one of his streams, Hoon shared that it seems (Moba)Zane has shifted focus away from playing games because he appears to have more important matters to attend to these days.

Instead, MLBB Caster Frederick Handy, also known as Mirko Loho, expressed that international tournaments lack the same charm without MobaZane.

In one of his live broadcasts, Mirko remarked, “He creates a great deal of excitement and turmoil, and I believe we’ll surely notice his absence in MSC. There won’t be any more ‘Malaysia EZ Server’ controversies.

The incident Mirko mentioned was about MobaZane and the BTK team competing for North America at the M6 World Championship. On Instagram, MobaZane shared a story with the Malaysian flag and labeled it “Noob.” This action led to criticism from Malaysian supporters who felt he was disrespecting their national emblem. Later on, due to the backlash, MobaZane issued a public apology.

On April 3, 2025, MobaZane’s YouTube channel last saw an update. Recently, though, he’s been more into Honor of Kings instead of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. This change in game preference has sparked rumors about him potentially switching to a different esports game or simply focusing on content creation. As of now, MobaZane hasn’t spoken publicly about his absence from the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports world.
