Rylan puts on a loved-up display with boyfriend Kennedy Bates as they soak up the sun during lavish Maldives getaway

Rylan and his boyfriend, Kennedy Bates, seemed incredibly happy and in love during their recent trip to the Maldives.

The 37-year-old TV presenter, who began dating the owner of Billy Bates & Sons funfair in Leicestershire in August, shared several photos from their ‘perfect’ getaway on Instagram on Friday.

Rylan and Kennedy relaxed at the luxurious Adaaran Select Meedhupparu hotel, spending their time sunbathing and sipping cocktails by the beach.

Kennedy showed Rylan affection by drawing a heart on his back with sunscreen, and they later held hands while enjoying the view.

The couple beamed at each other as they swam in the clear blue ocean, on their way to meet friends for dinner.

Rylan shared a post about their trip to the Maldives, calling it ‘perfect’ and expressing excitement for the new year with ‘new friends and new beginnings.’ Kennedy responded, simply calling it ‘a fantastic little holiday’.

Adaaran Select Meedhupparu is a luxurious, all-villa resort offering six restaurants, a gym, tennis court, and spa for a relaxing getaway.

People were thrilled to see Rylan doing so well, especially considering it’s been five years since his split from Dan Neal.

Rob Rinder expressed his satisfaction with someone’s work, saying it met his expectations. Zoe Ball chimed in with a message of affection, simply saying ‘love this love for you Baby’.

Craig David wrote: ‘Love this’ while Christine McGuinness posted: ‘Love love love’. 

Rylan and his wife separated in 2021 after six years of marriage, following his admission of infidelity.

Last year, while appearing on Louis Theroux’s ‘How To Be In Love’ podcast – a show documenting his search for a partner – he publicly revealed his relationship with Kennedy.

Rylan claimed he was very open about his relationship, even going on several dates in public, but surprisingly, no one seemed to notice.

Rylan and his partner have talked about having children, and Rylan shared with Louis that they both want to start a family.

Rylan shared that he’s feeling really happy right now. He recently started a new relationship that feels amazing and different from anything he’s experienced before, which he sees as a positive thing.

I’m so happy to have finally introduced someone to my family – it’s been four years since I last did that. I usually prefer to keep things private and avoid going out to restaurants, but I’ve been doing the opposite lately.

It’s funny, I’ve been so obvious about something that no one has picked up on it, and honestly, I’m a little proud of that – I’m going to embrace it.

Honestly, I was really hesitant at first. My job is a big part of my life, and I was worried about what people would think if they found out. But I realized I couldn’t let that stop me from experiencing this – I just couldn’t miss out.

‘I’m loving what I’ve got at the minute and I want to keep it that way.’

Later on, Louis offered Rylan some relationship advice, explaining that having children adds extra challenges you need to work through together.

“Have you been thinking about having children?” Louis asked. Rylan responded, “Yes, we both want kids.”

Rylan revealed he’s dating someone new on BBC Radio 2 last week, following a segment featuring an interview with Louis from his podcast.

When the video finished, Lottie playfully asked Rylan if there was anything he hadn’t shared. This led to a lighthearted back-and-forth where Rylan jokingly avoided answering, before finally admitting he was dating someone.

He admitted it felt strange to share on the radio, but he confirmed he was dating someone, adding that he’d kept it a secret for a long time.

Lottie shared that she and her coworkers had met Rylan’s new boyfriend and found him to be very kind. Rylan himself confirmed he’s feeling happy and fulfilled in the relationship.
