Rylan Clark shares a sweet birthday tribute to his mum Linda as she turns 73 and updates fans on her health after she was rushed to hospital

Rylan Clark posted a heartfelt message celebrating his mom Linda’s 73rd birthday, giving followers an update about her wellbeing.

On a particularly fretful Friday evening, I, a devoted admirer, found myself gripped with worry as my cherished presenter, aged 36, shared some unsettling news with his legion of followers. The crux of it all: he wouldn’t be gracing our airwaves on the morrow, as Linda, his confidant, had been urgently hospitalized.

On Sunday, Rylan posted a series of photos of his mom on Instagram to celebrate her birthday and announced that she had been released from the hospital.

‘Happy Birthday to the best mum. So glad ur home for it. Love you x,’ he wrote. 

In one of the photos, you’ll find Rylan and his mother all dolled up for a fancy day out, while other shots capture them enjoying luxurious vacations.

Rylan’s well-known friends swiftly posted birthday greetings. Rob Rinder, his ex-co-host on X Factor, wrote: “Happy Birthday Linda with hugs xxx.

Ruth Langsford wishes a happy birthday to @lindaclark! So glad you managed to get home. Enjoy your special day!

Scarlett Moffatt exclaimed, “Happy massive birthday to Linda! 💕💕💕,” and Ella Henderson chimed in with, “I love you so much, Linda, on your special day! Wishing a very happy birthday to our beautiful angel!! 💕💕💕💕.

Cat Deeley, Holly Willoughby and Alexandra Burke also wished Linda a happy birthday.

After Rylan had shared a recent update about Linda’s health following her emergency hospitalization, it turned out that the next day was when he announced he would not be presenting his program.

Unfortunately, Mom Linda isn’t feeling well, which means I won’t be able to host the show tomorrow. I appreciate the quick response from the emergency team at Princess Alexandra Hospital during this difficult time.

Over the weekend, I was absolutely thrilled to hear directly from Rylan himself! He reassured us all that our beloved icon is improving, and the best news – she’ll be celebrating her 73rd birthday at home tomorrow, on July 20th! I simply can’t wait!

He announced on Instagram Stories that antibiotics were effective, and now she can continue her recovery at home. Consequently, she will be celebrating her birthday there.

‘Cheers everyone for your messages. Means a lot. Off sort wheelie bins x.’ 

Previously, Rylan shared with followers an update about his mom’s improved condition, yet he kept confidential the reason behind her hospitalization.

‘He mentioned that she is doing well and he hopes she will be home to celebrate her birthday. He also expressed concern about the issue of putting the wheelie bins back out again.’

Linda charmed the nation following her performance on Celebrity Gogglebox, leaving viewers in stitches due to her witty, understated humor.

Earlier in 2023, Rylan revealed that his mother endured a terrifying fall in Marbella and underwent urgent surgery. Afterward, they returned home together on a privately chartered aircraft.

Rylan shared some good news about her mom’s health, posting: ‘Thankfully, she’s doing great! Everything is going smoothly. Thanks for your kind messages x’

She is thriving quite nicely, currently engaged in a delightful conversation with a woman seated beside her. She’s on the road to recovery! Thank you for your supportive messages, he commented.

As a devoted son, I’ve proudly stood beside my mom as we’ve charmed audiences on Channel 4’s Gogglebox since 2019. Regrettably, our much-loved duo had to skip the recent series this time around, due to Linda’s health concerns.

Rylan has also previously opened up about his mother’s battle with Crohn’s disease.

Linda has been dealing with Crohn’s Disease, an affliction that triggers inflammation in the inner layers of her digestive tract, since her thirties.

She frequently requires several surgeries to excise malfunctioning sections of her intestine and daily consumes a variety of medications due to her health issue.

In the United Kingdom, approximately one out of every 1,200 individuals experiences Crohn’s disease, a long-term condition characterized by inflammation along the walls of their digestive tract, predominantly occurring within the intestines.

It causes symptoms including diarrhoea, intense abdominal pain, weight loss and fatigue.

In 2017, Linda spent six weeks in the hospital because she was fighting against Crohn’s disease for an extended period.

Previously, Rylan mentioned that she’s facing some health challenges due to her existing conditions, which have added an extra layer of complexity to the situation.
