Rylan Clark breaks down in tears as he shares his emotional reaction to Doctor Who’s regeneration reveal after his own iconic cameo on the show
Rylan Clark shared his emotional response to the shocking finale of Doctor Who on Saturday, following his surprising appearance earlier in the show’s run.
After many people across the country watched the final episode of the series, the host and ardent viewer quickly posted a video on Instagram, just moments following Ncuti Gatwa’s regeneration being broadcasted.
Audience members were taken aback when it came to light that Ncuti had transformed into the well-known actress Billie Piper, who then made an unexpected appearance.
In the video, Rylan humorously mentioned he would cringe at this moment later, saying, “Here’s an awkward tale I might chuckle about later and call myself a goof, but I just finished watching the final episode of Doctor Who.
I’m not sure what occurred momentarily; oh my goodness, it’s incredible, the attendance was beyond expectations – I never thought this would happen.

He titled his post: “Being a part of this season was truly an honor; I’m emotionally overwhelmed. What a fantastic conclusion! xxx
Previously, Rylan appeared on an episode of Doctor Who’s current season that was reminiscent of Eurovision, entitled “The Cosmic Music Festival.
Billie Eilish is set to become the second female actor to step into the Time Lord’s role, following in the footsteps of Jodie Whittaker who played the Thirteenth Doctor.
She replaces Ncuti, who leaves Doctor Who after two seasons in the science-fiction series.
The actor’s stint on the lengthy sci-fi TV series concluded when The Reality War episode wrapped up the current season on Saturdays.
In the climactic two-parter of the season, I found myself squaring off against the Rani in an epic struggle to protect our planet. This showdown was sparked by my selfless choice to save a young girl’s life at the cost of potential danger to the world.
In parting from his companion Belinda Chandra, portrayed by Varada Sethu, he expressed: ‘I truly hope we meet again someday, but under different circumstances.’
The final scene also featured Whittaker, the thirteenth doctor, making a special visit, while it seemed that Gatwa’s Doctor was navigating different realities.

According to a statement from the BBC, Ncuti Gatwa expressed that, although you anticipate having to give up the sonic screwdriver when cast, nothing truly prepares you for the reality and the eventual conclusion of everything.
This experience will stay etched in my memory, and the character I played will remain an integral part of me throughout my life. There’s no way to put into words the emotions that come with being chosen as The Doctor, or the feelings that accompany embracing a role cherished by millions worldwide for more than six decades.
As a grateful newcomer to this extraordinary series, I wholeheartedly affirm that the devoted viewers embody the soul and final act of this captivating show. I can never express enough gratitude towards the Whoniverse and its dedicated fans, for embracing me warmly and making my journey here an unforgettably moving experience.
I’ve cherished every moment with that treasured blue box, but now it’s time for me to pass on the responsibility and let another person experience its joy just as deeply as I have.
I’ll deeply cherish it and remain eternally thankful for it, along with everyone who contributed to my journey as the Doctor. I won’t forget it.
Responding to Billie’s statement: “It’s not hidden that I adore this series greatly. I’ve often expressed my desire to revisit the Whoniverse, as it holds some of my most cherished memories. So when the chance came to climb aboard the Tardis once more, it was an offer I simply couldn’t turn down.
Following the airing of Doctor Who, Billie Piper shared on Instagram, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet!!!”, accompanied by photos of her past role as Rose Tyler, the Doctor’s companion on the series.
Russell T Davies, the Doctor Who showrunner, expressed: ‘What a Doctor! Thank you, Ncuti! This experience has been an absolute pleasure, and our team in Cardiff, along with everyone involved in this series over the past few years, feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of Ncuti’s extraordinary journey as he soars to unprecedented heights.’
The BBC program has reportedly taken a lengthy hiatus due to the backlash surrounding its latest storylines featuring non-binary extraterrestrials, misogynistic men, and a pregnant alien character.
A handful of social media commentators have highlighted aspects such as character diversity, the inclusion of a drag queen antagonist, and the representation of transgender and non-binary individuals within the cast.
Nevertheless, both Davies and Gatwa have forcefully refuted these criticisms, labeling them as coming from a small group. Specifically, Davies stated on BBC Radio 2’s 20 Secrets From 20 Years: “There is always someone who brings up diversity concerns.
Additionally, we face critics online who allege that we prioritize diversity and social awareness, as well as related topics and matters.

Additionally, I find myself pressed for time, with not even a moment to spare on it. In essence, the concept you refer to as diversity, I simply view it as an opportunity or an open invitation.
In 2024, Gatwa told Attitude magazine that the backlash the sci-fi show received after casting a black man was “intriguing, as there seems to be a lot of effort they’re exerting… I believe they could benefit from finding a new pastime.
In his time, he has been accompanied by actresses such as Varada Sethu from Andor, and Millie Gibson, a former Coronation Street actress who portrayed Gatwa’s character’s companion, Ruby Sunday, since the 2023 Christmas episode titled “The Church On Ruby Road.
As a dedicated fan, I’ve been captivated by two extraordinary series, and I’d like to share some memorable moments from them. One noteworthy episode was set in the Regency era, where I found myself drawn into a blossoming relationship with the character Rogue, portrayed brilliantly by Jonathan Groff, who you might recognize from Mindhunter. Another unforgettable episode was the Boom episode, which delivered an exhilarating experience. Lastly, the return of a timeless adversary, the Rani, added an exciting twist to the series.
