Ryan Seacrest Sued Over Alleged Illegal Online Casino Promotion

Ryan Seacrest’s spotless image is facing scrutiny due to a legal action claiming that he promoted an unlawful online casino within the boundaries of California.

A well-known television personality in the U.S., recognized as one of America’s most trusted hosts for American Idol and Wheel of Fortune, is currently facing a lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed by Aubrey Carillo, a California resident, who alleges that she suffered financial losses on ChumbaCasino.com, a gaming platform that Seacrest frequently endorses via social media, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

In his claims, Carillo suggests that Seacrest functions as Chumba’s high-profile spokesperson. He posts sponsored advertisements on the web and features in their promotional content.

As a conscientious lifestyle advisor, I’d like to express my concerns about a recent lawsuit that alleges my endorsement of a certain website may be contributing to the propagation of online gambling addiction among adults and even minors. Specifically, it’s been asserted that one child within my immediate family has had access to this site. It’s a serious matter that requires our attention and action to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone involved.

The grievance alleges that ChumbaCasino has been prohibited in numerous regions across the country, yet it persists in functioning within California. Carillo aims to secure an order halting its operation in California and preventing Seacrist from earning profits derived from its income.

However, source close to the situation told TMZ that this is ‘just a nuisance lawsuit.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to Seacrest’s reps for comment.

host of Live with Kelly and Ryan, Seacrest, recently advertised a casino through his personal Instagram account.

In a September 2024 blog post, Seacrest can be seen relaxing on a sofa alongside his dog, Georgia. It seems like he’s engrossed in his phone, but then his expression brightens noticeably.

He wrote, ‘Let’s play one more game at chumba.casino before we take a walk, Georgia,’ adding a tag to include his pet in the post.

In addition, the article contained a notice stating that it was brought to you by Chumba Casino, without requiring any purchase. Please note that this offer may not be valid in areas where it is restricted by law. For more details, kindly refer to the terms and conditions. This is intended for adults aged 18 and above.

He also pops up on Chumba Casino’s official Instagram page in several playful ads.

In a festive post, Seacrest is all wrapped up while sipping hot cocoa, discussing the thrill of the casino’s interactive games.

The legal action follows the criticism Ryan encountered in January, when he didn’t alert a Wheel of Fortune contestant about the potential peril of winning a bankruptcy prize.

As the competitor stepped onto a $1,000 segment and had the choice to flip it for an unexpected outcome, Seacrest cheered on, “Oh, let’s do this!” But alas, contestant Bailey unveiled a disheartening ‘bankrupt’ square, eliminating his earnings.

Critics accused Seacrest of neglecting to warn Bailey about potential risks, and some veteran viewers pointed out that a seasoned host like Pat Sajak, aged 78, would have provided a warning in such a situation.

The occurrence further contributed to the diverse reactions Seacrest is getting as the show’s latest host. Some spectators have even labeled him as ‘irritating’ and ‘lethargic’.
