Ryan Reynolds takes viewers “down in the mud” for new TV project

Following his successful acting career with hit films and joint ownership of the Wrexham football team, Ryan Reynolds is choosing to reconnect with the natural world again.

The actor will narrate a new five-part series from National Geographic titled Underdogs.

Unsung Heroes highlights the special traits of creatures often overshadowed by more popular characters in the limelight.

In every episode of this five-part series, we delve into unique facets of these unlikely characters’ mating tactics, hidden talents, deceitful actions, questionable parenthood methods, and off-putting behaviors.

The initial teaser of the upcoming series is now out, showcasing Ryan saying that he will be rolling up his sleeves to work alongside Mother Nature’s lesser-known characters – not the well-known heroes, but the unsung zeros.

Moreover, not only did they secure a famous Hollywood A-lister for narration, but they also managed to get Green Day to compose and perform the show’s opening theme, titled ‘Underdog’.

Regarding the show, Ryan expressed: “Working with National Geographic on ‘Underdogs’ was like realizing a long-held dream – primarily due to the fact that it means I can now share one of our creations with my kids.

They watched Deadpool and Wolverine, but it seems like they didn’t take in much due to their persistent eye-covering, ear-plugging, and continuous screams for a full two hours.

We’re thrilled to bring the unacknowledged champions of nature into the limelight, leading the stage in our entertainment, and we eagerly anticipate sharing this with everyone!

Last spotted gracing the large screen in the blockbuster, adult-rated “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Reynolds might once more be using profanity as he reprises his role as the antihero.

Earlier this month, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Ryan Reynolds has been developing multiple concepts for a group film, set to include between three and four characters from the X-Men universe.

Instead, Deadpool won’t take center stage in this movie. Rather, he’ll hang back a bit to give other X-Men characters room to shine in unconventional roles.

The television series titled ‘Underdogs’ is set to debut on Nat Geo Wild at 9:00 PM on the 18th of June. Starting from the 16th of June, you can also stream it on Disney+.
