As a long-time fan of the Marvel Universe, I must say that seeing Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s hilarious antics on social media last weekend was nothing short of thrilling! The fact that their Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration has become the number one movie in the world is truly mind-blowing.

Ryan Reynolds took a nostalgic stroll, reminiscing about the almost decade-long journey of portraying Deadpool, as his newest sequel featuring Wolverine continues to shatter box office milestones.

I, a dedicated follower, shared moments from my role in the superhero film on Instagram last Saturday, marking my 47th year. In recent times, you may recall a heated moment between myself and a co-star during the production of Deadpool and Wolverine.

Several images provided an exclusive glimpse into the making of the record-breaking Marvel film, amassing a staggering $390 million within its first ten days in U.S. cinemas and recording one of the largest second weekends ever, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

In his heartfelt message, Ryan expressed that for nearly a decade, he’s been fortunate enough to be part of this endeavor. Ten years ago, we would have enthusiastically accepted the astonishing 2nd weekend figures as our initial opening weekend numbers.

He went on to say: ‘The portrayal of #DeadpoolAndWolverine in these films is so realistic, it’s almost surreal. It’s as if I’m watching someone else’s life unfold. Regardless, creating these movies has been an unprecedented joy. I find myself reminiscing about the past moments associated with this project.’

He went on to thank his collaborators on the three films — which included 2016’s Deadpool and 2018’s Deadpool 2 — but noted that ‘there are way too many people who’ve made pivotal creative contributions to list.’

As a seasoned filmmaker with years of experience under my belt, I can attest to the fact that movie-making is indeed a game of inches. Each detail, each decision, and every tiny adjustment matters immensely in this intricate dance of storytelling and visual artistry. The relentlessness we applied during post-production, which I consider an integral part of the writing process itself, has left an indelible mark on me. It’s a testament to the blood, sweat, and tears that go into creating something truly memorable. This journey, with its myriad challenges and triumphs, has been a defining chapter in my life as a filmmaker.

I’d like to express my gratitude to each one of you who attended this movie screening. A big thank you goes out to those who revisited it, formed connections with fresh characters and paid tribute to beloved figures from our past work. This experience has truly been a joyride!

As a longtime comic book fan and film enthusiast, I must say that I am thrilled with the latest box office success of Deadpool & Wolverine. Having grown up reading these characters in the Marvel universe, it’s incredible to witness their on-screen adventures breaking records and captivating audiences worldwide. With my personal experience attending opening nights for comic book movies, I can attest that the energy and excitement surrounding this sequel is palpable. The early projections of $94 million to $96 million in its sophomore weekend indicate that the film’s success story will continue. And with a domestic total north of $390 million already under its belt, I eagerly anticipate the milestones this dynamic duo will achieve in the coming days. It’s an exciting time to be a fan!

On Friday, it managed to exceed $300 million, outpacing the entire domestic earnings of Deadpool 2 ($318.5 million) in its lifetime.

On the heels of its second weekend in theaters, I’m thrilled to share that our film is on track to outperform the total lifetime domestic and international earnings of both Deadpool movies by Sunday. What a remarkable feat for such a short span!

In domestic box office earnings, Deadpool made an impressive $363.1 million, and internationally it raked in a whopping $782.6 million. The sequel of this action-packed movie even surpassed these figures, amassing a global total of $734.5 million.

By Sunday, the movie’s worldwide earnings are projected to be anywhere from $785 million to $800 million, placing it among the top three highest-grossing R-rated films globally.

In present terms, Todd Phillips’ movie Joker is leading the pack with a staggering earnings of $1.064 billion, closely followed by Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which has amassed an impressive $975.2 million so far.

Deadpool & Wolverine is anticipated to eventually achieve around $1.2 billion.

Over the past weekend, Ryan and his fellow star of Deadpool and Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, commemorated their movie’s top spot by sharing amusing posts on social media.

Hugh posted a picture showing his Wolverine figure resting in bed, clutching a picture frame labeled ‘#1 Film Globally.’

In his caption, he wrote, ‘Wolverine and Deadpool is the #1 movie in the world. Thank you ALL!’

Later on, Ryan shared an image featuring Deadpool depicting Wolverine, with the caption: “I’ll surely miss Hugh. #DeadpoolWithWolverine”
