On Monday, Ryan, aged 47, used Instagram to publish a set of pictures highlighting his journey with Hugh, who is 55, accompanied by an extensive caption explaining their initial encounter.
He also revealed how their Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration came about.
‘On August 14th, 2022, @thehughjackman stopped his car to call me,’ Ryan began.
Despite enduring a tough week with falling ill, two flats tires, and an unknown individual vandalizing his house by egging it, an unexpected turn of events transpired swiftly. He informed me that he was determined to retrieve The Wolverine.

Ryan went on to reveal the excitement he felt the first time he saw Hugh in the Wolverine suit.
“Upon setting foot on that set wearing that suit, I could sense an air of excitement. In that moment, I found myself believing all would turn out well.” (Hugh’s words)
Later on, Ryan elaborated about their initial encounter, marking the start of a 17-year bond between them. This man, whom Ryan referred to as his “friend and most admired actor”, was none other than Hugh.
‘I met him in Sydney around 2007,’ Ryan continued.
Previously, he was a well-known film personality, while I joined the set as a secondary actor. Arriving halfway through filming isn’t much different from entering a new school for the first time. Needless to say, I was quite anxious and jittery.
Ryan mentioned that Hugh made both him and the entire team feel comfortable, a sentiment he’s never forgotten.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’ve observed that film sets can sometimes harbor an unsettling imbalance of power. However, what stood out to me was how one individual consistently demonstrated genuine respect and appreciation towards each crew member. In my own words, I recall witnessing this exceptional behavior firsthand.

Ryan continued the expansive tribute, gushing over Hugh and referring to him as THE X-Man.

Not only did Hugh Jackman bring Wolverine fans’ dreams to life, but he also fulfilled mine. Indeed, he embodies the essence of THE X-Man.
