Ryan Reynolds’ Feud With Deadpool Co-Star Exposed: Is He Really That Mean?

In the past few days, conversations about the troubled bond between actor T.J. Miller and his Deadpool co-star Ryan Reynolds, as shared by Miller himself, have been rekindled online.

Fans are once more questioning the rift between the comedian and Reynolds, following Miller’s statement in October 2022 that he wouldn’t collaborate with Reynolds anymore due to his allegedly cruel behavior towards him during filming for the initial two Deadpool movies.

Previously, Miller, who had strongly disputed claims that he assaulted a woman during a sexual encounter in college, including an attack with a beer bottle, discussed his alleged challenges while collaborating with Reynolds during an appearance on The Adam Carolla Show.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Reynolds for comment.

Due to the recent legal disputes between Blake Lively, aged 37, and Justin Baldoni, who directed and starred alongside her in “It Ends With Us,” spectators have found themselves once more engrossed in the unfolding saga.

As a seasoned lifestyle advisor, I find myself compelled to share a professional dilemma that recently transpired in the industry. In this situation, I, unfortunately, found myself in a position where I felt it necessary to bring forth allegations against an esteemed colleague, Mr. Baldoni, who is 41 years of age and heads his own production company. The accusations stem from instances of unwanted sexual advances and the cultivation of a toxic work environment that I experienced firsthand. This legal matter, which includes a formal complaint and subsequent lawsuit, underscores the importance of fostering a safe and respectful workplace for all individuals.

Baldoni countered the accusations by lodging a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Soane. He alleged that the three tried to tarnish his reputation following the success of their movie’s launch.

During the interview, Reynolds affirmed his participation in a third Deadpool movie, which ultimately evolved into the joint film titled Deadpool and Wolverine. This production hit theaters in July of 2024.

Approximately a month prior to Miller’s interview, Reynolds had revealed that his old colleague and acting partner, Hugh Jackman, aged 56, was planning to resume his character as the X-Men figure, Wolverine, in the upcoming superhero film extravaganza.

During an appearance on the Adam Carolla Show, Miller expressed a sense of strain or unease in his relationship with Reynolds.

According to Miller, he asserted that the character was incredibly rude towards him on set, almost as if he saw him as a sidekick rather than himself. This was during the making of the second movie.

The Big Hero 6 actor went on to say, “‘You know what makes you special, Weasel? You don’t steal the spotlight, but you provide just the right amount of background information that’s amusing. Then we can move on and focus on the main story again.’

Miller appeared to be listening, but seemed puzzled and found the situation strange, before deciding to leave after the director signaled ‘cut’.

The actor portraying Yogi Bear hinted that Reynolds might have felt insecure about something, although he wasn’t entirely clear on the specific cause.

According to Miller, he stated that for the exact reason – he isn’t funnier than him and hasn’t acted in more films than him.

Or,

Miller asserted that his statement was based on the fact that he isn’t funnier or has a greater number of movies under his belt compared to him.

Regardless of any reported tension between the two actors, Miller made it clear that he bore no grudge against Reynolds.

He expressed that he wouldn’t collaborate with him once more: “I won’t work with him again,” he stated. However, in a strange twist, he also conveyed a sentiment of goodwill towards the individual for his exceptional portrayal of Deadpool, remarking, “I kind of hope he does well because he’s so good at it, but it feels odd that he dislikes me.

He went on to say, “I harbor no malice towards him. I believe Ryan ought to produce Deadpool 3 and carry on with his filmmaking endeavors. Frankly, I feel he may not be fond of me, and I found it peculiar the way he communicated that.

Miller played Deadpool’s close friend Weasel who runs a bar for mercenaries in the films.

Contrary to the perceived animosity between Miller and Reynolds, only a few days following the interview, Miller expressed on the Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Show that they had reconciled their disagreements.

In my perspective as a lifestyle advisor, I found it quite engaging when he reached out to me the following day via email. Turned out there was a miscommunication, which I promptly addressed by responding to his message. Now, everything seems smooth sailing between us.

Additionally, he argued that his first grievances were misunderstood, and it was merely an unusual incident happening on the film set that he found peculiar.

Previously in November, following the incredible box-office performance of Deadpool and Wolverine, Miller showed renewed enthusiasm about reprising his role for a potential fourth installment in the series.

Previously, he mentioned Reynolds during his interview on SiriusXM’s The Bonfire. He expressed his belief that Reynolds inquiring about him, given their current friendship, would be fantastic and a wonderful opportunity.

Initially, when Miller voiced concerns about Reynolds, it seems he overlooked the troubling accusations that surfaced in 2017.

In his early criticisms of Reynolds, Miller appeared to disregard the problematic claims that emerged in 2017.

Lastly: When first speaking out against Reynolds, it appears Miller chose not to address the concerning allegations brought forth in 2017.

In 2001, an unidentified individual who once studied at George Washington University shared with The Daily Beast that Miller exhibited violent behavior towards her during a college-era intimate encounter between the two.

During the reported event, she claimed he had grabbed her, violently shook her, and struck her in the face, an account that was supported by individuals who were interviewed later.

2001 saw reports at The Daily Beast indicating that the university took notice of her accusations. Subsequently, it is claimed that he was dismissed following disciplinary proceedings.

Back in 2019, I defended myself against allegations by stating that the accuser, a former college acquaintance, was more of a persistent admirer than an accuser. I also mentioned that she harbored feelings of jealousy due to the belief that my wife, Kate Miller, whom I married in 2015, had somehow ‘usurped’ her life.

In April 2018, Miller experienced a setback in his career as he was apprehended at LaGuardia Airport, located within the city boundaries of New York City.

Law enforcement officials have filed federal charges against him for allegedly fabricating a bomb threat, and the Department of Justice announced that he is suspected of placing an emergency call while on an Amtrak train, where he falsely claimed that a female passenger was carrying a bomb in her luggage.

After being stopped and emptied, it turned out that no explosive substances were found on the train. However, investigators heard from witnesses that Miller seemed extremely drunk and had earlier argued with a woman in the first-class section of the train. He was subsequently asked to leave due to his suspected intoxication following this altercation.

In 2021, Miller was freed on a bond worth $100,000 following an appearance in Connecticut’s federal court. At this time, the charges against him were dismissed. This decision was made after prosecutors stated that a brain surgery Miller underwent in 2010 might have resulted in persistent neurological effects which could potentially impact his behavior.

Under the terms of settling the case, Miller consented to reimburse authorities for expenses incurred during the investigation into his bogus 911 report, and he also agreed to participate in a program aimed at improving his cognitive abilities to prevent future occurrences of such incidents.

Last week, Justin Baldoni intensified his verbal-legal dispute with Lively and Reynolds by filing a lawsuit for $400 million. He claimed they colluded to tarnish his reputation by propagating false sexual harassment accusations that Lively had previously made.

According to court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, Baldoni alleges that Lively interfered with the filming of their romantic drama “It Ends With Us,” a project that Baldoni was directing.

Additionally, he claimed that both her and her Deadpool co-star spouse marred his movie premiere experience by making him and his family wait in a basement lounge filled with excess snack bar items and security personnel to prevent her from spotting him in the cinema.

Regarding Justin Baldoni’s recent legal action, Lively’s legal team responded boldly to DailyMail.com, stating that this new lawsuit, involving Wayfarer Studios and their affiliates, represents yet another tactic from an alleged abuser’s handbook.

They stated: ‘This narrative has been around for a long time: A woman presents solid proof of sexual harassment and retaliation, and the perpetrator tries to shift blame onto the victim. This tactic is commonly known as DARVO among experts. It involves Denying the allegations, Attacking the character of the accuser, and Reversing the roles of Victim and Offender.’

The production company Wayfarer Studios, which has a wealthy co-founder, chose to utilize their resources by releasing press statements, filing frivolous lawsuits, and making threats of legal action. This strategy was intended to flood public perception with information in an effort to conceal the fact that their actions are a retaliation against sexual harassment accusations.

In a statement, Lively’s legal team countered: ‘They are attempting to divert attention away from themselves by falsely accusing Ms. Lively of seizing control and estranging the cast from Mr. Baldoni. However, evidence will prove that not only the cast but also others had their own unfavorable encounters with Mr. Baldoni and Wayfarer.’

The proof will additionally demonstrate that Sony requested Ms. Lively to manage their portion of the movie, which they later chose for distribution and turned out to be extremely successful.

In a subsequent discussion, they stated: ‘Regarding sexual harassment accusations, their stance was that she invited it, it was her own fault. They attributed the incident to her clothing choice.’

Essentially, what was established is this: While the victim is preoccupied with the mistreatment, the perpetrator remains fixated on the victim. This tactic of targeting the woman is a last-ditch effort, it doesn’t disprove the claims in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and ultimately, it will not succeed.
