Ryan Reynolds explains why Blake Lively played Lady Deadpool
As a longtime fan of both Marvel movies and the adorable Reynolds-Lively family dynamic, I must say that the latest twist in Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool saga has left me absolutely thrilled! It’s not every day that we get to see one of Hollywood’s power couples collaborate so intimately on a project, especially when it involves Blake Lively donning the Lady Deadpool mantle.
Ryan Reynolds finally spoke up about Blake Lively’s character as Lady Deadpool in the upcoming film, “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
In the third installment of the film, the actor portraying Wade Wilson (also known as Deadpool) playfully commented on how his real-life spouse unexpectedly made an appearance as one of the numerous Deadpool versions in the movie’s concluding scene.
He confided in Amanda Hirch during the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast that he has been spending nights with someone. However, I should clarify that it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s delighted about our shared sleepovers; I’m simply stating that I have indeed done so.
It’s quite unusual for me. Just the thought of uttering such a thing aloud makes me queasy. Mostly, I keep confidences hidden.
Later, he clarified her position: “In essence, it was more like, ‘Why not give it a try?’ We were all in this together, so why not seize the moment and let loose?”

During a particular scene in the movie, Lively doesn’t remove her mask, yet dedicated followers of the actress recognize her because of her unique voice. The film’s end credits reveal that the role of Lady Deadpool was performed by the actress famous for her work on “Gossip Girl” and “It Ends With Us”.
In an Instagram post several days following the film’s premiere, Lively officially acknowledged her portrayal of Lady Deadpool.
The actor shared that the initial design of Deadpool, created by Rob Liefeld in 2010, was actually inspired by her.
If Lady Deadpool appears on screen someday, I believe Amanda Seyfried may influence the casting decision, as she mentioned this in the past.
As a fan, I never let on to Rob that I was working alongside Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern all those years ago. Twelve years passed before I stumbled upon his post. A year after that, Deadpool 3 was filmed. Sometimes, the universe has an incredibly charming sense of humor!
In addition to Ryan Reynolds, not just Lively but also their two children, Inez (age 7) and Olin (age 1), appeared in the movie Deadpool & Wolverine. They had small roles, portraying Kidpool and Babypool respectively.
The Hollywood pair are also parents to two more daughters, 9-year-old James and 4-year-old Betty.
