Ryan Reynolds breaks silence with cryptic post as he hints at difficult time amid Blake Lively’s sexual harassment lawsuit against Justin Baldoni
As a seasoned observer of human dynamics and a student of the intricacies of Hollywood, I find myself utterly appalled by the latest turn of events involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Having spent years navigating the treacherous waters of the entertainment industry myself, I can empathize with both parties to some extent. However, the sheer audacity and blatant manipulation displayed in these leaked messages are nothing short of breathtaking.
On Monday, Ryan Reynolds finally spoke up about the recent sexual harassment lawsuit filed by Blake Lively against Justin Baldoni, sharing his thoughts on Instagram.
In a recent post on social media, the 48-year-old actor subtly indicated that they were experiencing tough times while promoting their ongoing fundraising effort in collaboration with Children’s Hospital Sick Kids.
In the brief video segment, he donned the well-known Deadpool costume, alongside his daughter and actress Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman), where he confessed that the filming of the campaign took place when he wasn’t particularly keen on wearing the suit.
The couple have promised they will match donations up to $500,000 until Christmas Eve.
With only one day left until Christmas Eve, it’s the final chance to contribute to @sickkids. Blake Lively and I will be doubling every donation up to a total of $500,000.
‘This organisation is a sanctuary for so many kids and their parents traversing the unimaginable.
I appreciate your efforts, Rowlandbb, in directing such an impressive mini production at a time when I wasn’t particularly keen on donning the costume.
“Appreciation to @reallyndacarter for your generosity with time, elegance, and skill. Big thanks to my daughter for maintaining her kindness, even when I ask her to use strong language (all in the name of a worthy goal).
Last Friday, on December 20th, Blake initiated a legal action at the California Civil Rights Department, charging Justin with sexual harassment and orchestrating what she claims is a malicious defamation campaign, as a reported response to her voicing objections about his unsuitable conduct on set.
Actress from Gossip Girl, aged 37, asserts that actor Justin, aged 40, fostered an unhealthy work atmosphere while the movie was being made – an accusation he has strongly disputed.
And on Sunday it was reported that Ryan blocked Justin on Instagram, months before his wife filed the lawsuit.
As reported by Page Six, Justin allegedly informed his publicist via text message in May that Ryan had restricted access to both him and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, on Instagram.
Justin reportedly was ‘worried’ Blake might ‘follow suit.’
According to the report, Justin’s message reads: ‘I’d like everyone to be prepared with a strategy, as it will help us feel more comfortable when the movie is released, if she decides to do the same thing again.’
DailyMail.com has reached out to reps for Blake, Ryan and Justin for comment.
Although Blake continues to follow Justin on Instagram, indicating that he hasn’t been blocked, she doesn’t reciprocate the follow. Interestingly, neither Ryan nor Justin follow one another on the platform.
The social media report comes after disturbing new details from the lawsuit have surfaced.
Previous accounts have suggested that Justin may have shared explicit content of other females with Blake, spoke openly about a suspected porn habit, and made disrespectful comments regarding her weight, her deceased father, and various individuals on set or in the cast.
Newly disclosed information in the legal case suggests that Justin engaged in behavior that was even more inappropriate. According to documents acquired by People, he reportedly improvised intimate physical interactions during a scene without any previous agreement or rehearsal.
A report suggests that one instance allegedly included Justin nibbling and pulling at Ms. Lively’s lower lip gently, seemingly without her full consent, across several takes. He was said to persist in redoing the scene, even when it was evident that she was uncomfortable.
The lawsuit alleges Justin made sexual inquiries, including asking Blake if she and her husband experienced simultaneous climaxes— a question she found intrusive and refused to answer.
Additional allegations have been made that further intensify the concerns surrounding Justin. However, he persists in denying every single accusation levied against him.
The lawsuit claims that before filming began, Justin ‘inserted improvised gratuitous sexual content and/or scenes involving nudity into the film (including for an underage character) in highly unsettling ways.’
In the proposed alterations, there were scenes such as one where Blake’s character was to climax on screen and another extensive scene showing the young character resembling Blake, Lily Bloom, losing her virginity. However, neither of these scenes were present in the initial book.
As stated in the complaint, these additional changes were carried out without obtaining Blake’s prior approval, following her initial agreement to participate in the project.
When Blake expressed concerns, it’s said that Justin justified the alterations, stating they were incorporated as he was narrating the tale “from a woman’s perspective.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: I stood firm in my conviction to keep a particular scene portraying my character, Lily’s, and Ryle Kincaid’s wedding night intimacy, arguing that it was crucial for me because I share an experience with my partner where we both reach our climax at the same time during intimate moments.
The accusations also involve the film’s producer, Jamey Heath, who is being blamed for making the already harmful atmosphere even worse.
The lawsuit claims Heath pressured Blake to simulate nudity during a childbirth scene, despite prior agreements that no nudity was required.
In this account, it appears that the setting did not include typical safety measures often found in the industry. This left Blake in a vulnerable position, exposing most of her body, with her legs apart in stirrups, and just a minimal cloth shielding her private areas.
It’s also alleged that Health exhibited to Blake and another colleague an explicit, unedited video of his spouse delivering their baby, which Blake originally thought was adult content.
Moreover, it is claimed that on numerous instances, neither Justin nor Heath supposedly barged into Blake’s trailer unexpectedly, finding her in various states of vulnerability – either naked, breastfeeding, or otherwise exposed.
The complaint details an incident where Heath entered Blake’s makeup trailer uninvited while she was topless.
Even though Blake asked him to wait until she was dressed, it’s said that Heath still looked at her against her clear instruction not to do so.
Another unsettling claim involves Justin improvising an intimate moment during a slow-dance scene.
As stated in the legal document, Justin moved closer non-theatrically and not as a character he portrays, and then gently kissed his way from her ear to her neck while whispering, “It has such an enticing aroma.
When Blake objected to his actions, Justin allegedly retorted, ‘I’m not even attracted to you.’
In early 2024, after a meeting with Blake, Justin, along with other producers, and Ryan, it appears that Wayfarer Studios made a decision to include an intimacy coordinator during the filming of any scenes featuring nudity or simulated sexual activity.
The studio also assured that no further improvised kissing or physical intimacy would occur.
As a die-hard fan of both Justin and Blake, I’ve been following their careers closely for years. Recently, I stumbled upon some explosive text messages that allegedly reveal how Justin’s crisis management team orchestrated a smear campaign against Blake. This revelation has left me feeling utterly disappointed and betrayed, especially given my deep admiration for both artists. It’s hard to believe that someone I once idolized could stoop so low as to undermine another talented individual in such a malicious way. If these allegations are true, it tarnishes Justin’s reputation and casts a long shadow over his career. I can only hope for the truth to come out and for both artists to handle this situation with grace and integrity.
According to Blake’s team, messages within the lawsuit disclose a complex strategy, labeled by Justin and his associates as “social manipulation,” intended to tarnish Blake’s reputation. They claim this scheme started following her expressions of worry regarding working conditions on set.
During the film’s promotion period, whispers of tension between the main actors started circulating, as observant viewers picked up on a cool demeanor displayed by the duo at premieres.
However, Blake had expressed caution towards Justin long before the filming began, as stated in her lawsuit, due to their disagreements regarding his attempts to insert unnecessary nudity and sexual content into the movie.
During the production process, relations worsened significantly, eventually leading to a Human Resources meeting. In this meeting, Justin and his studio, Wayfarer, agreed to certain conditions in order for Blake to contemplate restarting filming following the writers’ strike, as stated in the documents.
Prior to August 2nd, Justin brought on board Melissa Nathan, a crisis management specialist with past clients like Johnny Depp, as an addition to his PR team that already included publicist Jennifer Abel.
As a lifestyle advisor, I’ve come across some intriguing insights from a legal dispute. Through a court order, certain communications between the women were uncovered, such as an interaction where Nathan expresses confidence in her abilities to outdo others. In this specific instance, she mentions that she could potentially ‘outshine or overpower anyone’.
The message was sent in reply to Abel’s text which says that Justin, ‘wants to feel like she [Blake] can be buried’.
Nathan replies, “Absolutely – however, it’s important to understand that when we share documents, we can’t include what we might or might not do, as that could lead to potential problems.” He further clarifies, “We can’t promise to eliminate her either.
She responded with another message stating, “Consider the consequences if a document detailing his wishes falls into the wrong hands.
‘You know we can bury anyone but I can’t write that to him. I will be very tough.’
Another back and forth on August 2 appears to show Nathan joking about murdering Blake.
“I also sent you a gift. Please understand that I didn’t harm anyone and send their remains in a box to your house. It’s a present for congratulations,” which prompts Abel to exclaim: “Oh dear!” or “That’s not what I expected!
Later the same day, Abel penned down that she’s been contemplating some impulsive ideas about writing critiques this week on Blake being difficult to collaborate with.
As a devoted follower, I’ve been pondering about proposing a well-focused social media initiative, which, from my perspective, could prove advantageous for us.
He sent a message showing a screenshot of a Twitter thread about allegations of bullying against Hailey Bieber with the caption: ‘This is what we would need’.
As a die-hard fan, every hint of conflict between my idols Blake and Justin piqued my curiosity. I initially believed their disputes were just creative differences, hoping for the best while keeping a close eye on developments.
Justin proposed showcasing the central theme of domestic abuse in marketing the movie, while Blake suggested a more positive and inspiring approach for promotional purposes.
Later, Blake faced criticism because her approach to promoting the movie seemed insensitive, as she neglected to address the topic of domestic abuse during multiple interviews despite its relevance.
It’s not certain whether this reaction was deliberately planned, but Justin’s communications seem to indicate that he had the chance to leverage the unfavorable publicity for his own gain.
Justin asks, “Could you please create a TikTok strategy focusing exclusively on posts about domestic violence, sharing clips, and explaining why the chosen movie carries such significance?
However, while the debate about the movie continued heatedly, some unsavory accusations that Blake had previously made against Justin started to surface in public media.
They mentioned that he made uncomfortable remarks about her body size and stayed excessively prolonged during intimate kisses.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but notice how the team skillfully maneuvered the situation, diligently working to redirect focus back on the captivating figure of Blake.
On August 11, Abel sent Justin a message reassuring him that the stories were not a threat.
She mentioned that there hasn’t been much response, but her fans continue to stand by her and think the ongoing disagreement about the movie is due to one person taking charge.
Yesterday, Nathan told Abel that most people on social media seem to support Justin, but he doesn’t align with many of their views, chuckling and saying, “lol, not even half of them!” In a different take, Nathan is quite taken with the ‘clever’ approach.
Jen, this turned out better than expected! I can’t wait to share the details with you soon. Let’s chat shortly, and I’ll fill you in on how it all played out. Simply brilliant!
Further allegations about Justin’s unwelcome behaviour are included in the legal complaint.
One version might be: They make assertions that Justin allegedly displayed an explicit video of his wife to Blake, intruded into the star’s private space while she was either nude or breastfeeding, openly talked about his suspected porn addiction, and made both the star and other female staffers feel uneasy with his inappropriate sexual comments.
During a meeting held in January, Blake, Justin, and various studio representatives discussed and resolved several matters. Among the decisions made was the inclusion of an intimacy coordinator on set.
As a devoted admirer, I firmly believe that despite our varied viewpoints, establishing a secure space for everyone is non-negotiable – a principle I passionately stand by.
In the midst of this challenging situation, I’ve found myself privy to an intriguing media strategy document that seems to originate from our crisis management team. This strategic plan, as part of the legal complaint, aims to safeguard not only my reputation but also those of my esteemed lead producer, Jamey Heath, and our company, Wayfarer.
The document outlines several possible talking points to boost Justin, but also discredit Blake.
Mentioning her less-than-stellar standing in her field, they also discuss the strategy she employed by bringing her husband Ryan Reynolds into the picture, potentially creating a power imbalance.
After the filming process, Blake hired an editor personally to re-edit a particular version of the movie. This edited version turned out to be the one that was distributed.
In a different communication, it seems that Justin proposes using Reynolds’ participation as an additional strategy for reaching out to Blake.
The text implies that my partner suggested we change the story around this morning’s leak concerning Ryan claiming the script was disastrous but managed to save the film. They proposed doing so by using their own words against them.
The document implies that certain team members may have been let go because Blake insisted on maintaining creative control.
Justin has refuted the claims through his lawyer Brian Freedman.
He stated that it’s regrettable that Ms. Lively and her associates have made such severe and undeniably false allegations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and their representatives. This appears to be another desperate ploy by her to remedy her tarnished reputation, which was earned through her own words and actions during the film campaign.
As a die-hard admirer, I’ve been closely following the live, uncensored interviews and media appearances. It’s fascinating to see the worldwide response unfold on the internet, as people share their unique perspectives and opinions about these events.
‘These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media.
As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that Wayfarer Studios took a strategic approach by recruiting a crisis manager before launching their film’s marketing campaign. This expert was tasked with working hand-in-hand with our in-house representative, Jonesworks, who is employed by Stephanie Jones. The reason for this hiring was the numerous demands and threats made by Ms. Lively during production, such as refusing to appear on set or promote the film. If her requests weren’t fulfilled, there was a risk that the movie would struggle during its release.
It emerged that Ms. Lively engaged Leslie Sloan of Vision PR, who additionally represents Mr. Reynolds, to spread untrue and invented stories in the media before any promotion for the movie started. This was one of the factors that led Wayfarer Studios to hire a crisis manager to start preparing internal contingency plans.
At Wayfarer Studios, their reps remained largely passive, addressing only incoming queries from the media to maintain accuracy and fairness in their reporting. They also kept an eye on social media activity.
Freedman noted that the carefully selected letters lack any proof that no actions were taken ahead of time towards the media or in other ways, beyond strategic internal discussions and private communications – a common practice among PR professionals for planning purposes.
Blake denied planting false or negative stories about her co-star or his company.
She expressed her hope that her legal action would expose the hidden, harmful tactics used against those who speak out about wrongdoing, thereby safeguarding others who might face similar situations in the future.
