Ryan Gosling reveals touching tribute to daughter he put in his new movie Project Hail Mary

Ryan Gosling shared that his daughters with Eva Mendes helped inspire the clothes his character wore in his latest film, Project Hail Mary.

He plays a middle school science teacher in a fun, sci-fi movie who teams up with an alien to save the sun – and the world – from being destroyed.

Ryan Gosling, who also helped produce the film, explained that he and Eva Mendes often search for movies the whole family can enjoy together and create lasting memories with, but those kinds of films are rare. He said that’s why they decided to make this movie themselves.

The famous couple have been together since 2011 and are parents to two daughters: 11-year-old Esmeralda and 9-year-old Amada.

Ryan Gosling recently revealed in a USA Today interview that his daughter encouraged him to wear glasses for his role in the movie.

He remembered playing around with the character and putting on glasses, at which point his daughter said, “You look smarter with glasses!”

The Barbie star responded with a polite “Thank you so much. I plan to wear these in the movie. I appreciate you pointing that out.”

Gosling said his daughters have offered a lot of feedback, and he values their opinions. He joked that Esmeralda and Amada are tough critics, but they’re usually right and have been incredibly helpful throughout the process.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who previously directed hits like The Lego Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, also directed this film.

The movie ‘Project Hail Mary,’ which is based on Andy Weir’s 2021 book, opened in theaters last Friday and has received very positive reviews, earning a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
