Ryan Gosling lines up Star Wars role
It’s rumored that Ryan Gosling might take on a character in the Star Wars universe, as negotiations are underway for him to join director Shawn Levy’s upcoming secretive movie project.
Shawn Levy, recognized for his direction of movies like “Free Guy” and “Deadpool & Wolverine”, linked himself to a “Star Wars” movie in November 2022. However, specifics about this project have been kept under wraps since then.
As a die-heart fan, it feels like I might be on the verge of witnessing something extraordinary. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are discussions underway for Ryan Gosling – an actor known for his roles in Barbie and La La Land – to take the lead in an upcoming mystery movie. This intriguing film is being penned by Jonathan Tropper.
The movie, thought to be its own independent tale apart from the Skywalker Saga, is one of several upcoming projects within the franchise. Currently, only “The Mandalorian and Grogu” has a confirmed release date, set for May 2026.
Although it’s yet to be confirmed if Ryan Gosling will take part, the famous series, The Mandalorian and Grogu, is set to showcase the adventure of Pedro Pascal’s central character. Accompanying him in this story are stars Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and Jonny Coyne.

As a devoted admirer, I’ve always cherished weaving tales within the intricate universe that George Lucas has crafted. The idea of translating the adventures of the Mandalorian and his little apprentice Grogu onto the silver screen is nothing short of exhilarating for me.
Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm and producer, stated that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have introduced two fresh and cherished characters into the Star Wars universe, making this new tale ideal for the cinema experience.
Beyond my excitement for The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, as well as Levy’s unnamed project, I’m equally thrilled about a few more movies on the horizon. One of them is Lando, with Donald Glover at the helm. Another one that has me hooked is Rogue Squadron, and last but not least, an untitled feature from Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson.
I’m thrilled to share that the first three seasons of my favorite show, The Mandalorian, are currently streaming on Disney+. Moreover, a movie featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu is scheduled for release in 2026! As for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga, they’re now available on DVD, Blu-ray, and even in stunning 4K quality. You can also find them all on Disney+.
