Ryan Gosling in Star Wars: A Shawn Levy Vision!

As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled about the recent developments for the upcoming Star Wars movie that’s been in the works for quite some time now. The potential addition of the talented Ryan Gosling to the cast has certainly added a significant buzz to the project.

44-year-old actor is under consideration for a role in an unnamed Star Wars film production, which is being helmed by director Shawn Levy, known for his work on Deadpool and Wolverine movies, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Initially, Levy was hired to oversee and create the project as early as 2022, alongside Johnathan Tropper, a writer known for penning Levy’s “The Adam Project”. Tropper joined the team to draft the screenplay.

The project was temporarily paused as Levy finished working on Stranger Things’ last season, but since filming has ended, it’s now being actively progressed.

It remains unclear which Star Wars character Ryan Gosling might portray, whether this character is already known within the Star Wars universe, or if he will introduce a completely new character.

The movie project is independently produced, but there might be links to the expansive Star Wars universe.

It has been reported that Levy is considering a movie about a boy band at Paramount, which could bring him back together with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who starred in Deadpool and Wolverine.

Speaking as a lifestyle aficionado, I must say that Victor Gosling’s passion for the Star Wars franchise is certainly propelling the next installment into swift production. It’s quite possible that this could be the next big-screen adventure in the Star Wars saga.

Should Ryan Gosling’s agreement be swiftly completed, we might start filming as early as autumn this year, potentially leading to a 2027 premiere date.

12 years after the whispers about Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron for a part in J.J. Abrams’ 2015 movie Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (which is thought to have been Adam Driver’s role as Kylo Ren) first circulated, here’s the latest news…

It was revealed in July 2024 that Tropper had been assigned as the screenwriter. However, it’s been mentioned that he has been crafting the script for more than a year prior to this announcement.

Details regarding the story haven’t been disclosed as of now, but Levy did share some insights into the development process way back in October 2023. However, this process was put on hold due to the writers’ strike that happened earlier in the same year.

In his own words, Levy shared that when Kathy Kennedy asked him to work on a Star Wars film, she emphasized a key instruction: “I want a movie that feels like something Shawn Levy would create. I want a narrative and atmosphere that showcase your style and the unique touch you bring to your films, but within the context of a Star Wars story.

He expressed a strong sense of self-assurance. Although the progress has been halted at an early stage due to the WGA strike, he feels confident in following his intuition when shaping this story and film’s creation.

He further emphasized that his collaboration with Marvel on Deadpool and Wolverine demonstrated that it is genuinely feasible to invest oneself emotionally while creating a film within a vast cinematic universe, yet still feel empowered as an individual contributor.

As it turns out, our Deadpool film is shaping up just as Ryan Reynolds and I envisioned when we first began working on it,” he noted.

Levy expressed his excitement about creating his Star Wars film, maintaining the same level of hopefulness and trust in his intuition to guide the process.

Through his production company, 21 Laps, Levy is set to create the movie collaboratively with Kathleen Kennedy, who serves as President at Lucasfilm.
