Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’ is getting an Imax 70mm re-release
Ryan Coogler’s genre-blending film ‘Sinners,’ which has received both audience and critical acclaim, will be re-released in Imax 70mm format from May 15 to 21. This announcement was made by Warner Bros. Pictures on Thursday.

In eight American cinemas, Ryan Coogler’s film “Sinners” is being shown on Imax 70mm. Fans have journeyed great distances, traveling thousands of miles, to experience this movie in its original presentation format.
Initially, the movie was screened exclusively in ten IMAX 70mm theaters worldwide. However, its re-release will expand its availability to nine North American theaters: Harkins Arizona Mills 18 & IMAX in Tempe, Regal Irvine Spectrum & IMAX in Irvine, Universal Cinema AMC at CityWalk Hollywood & IMAX in Los Angeles, AMC Metreon 16 & IMAX in San Francisco, AutoNation IMAX Theater in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, IMAX Theatre in the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis, AMC Lincoln Square 13 & IMAX in New York City, Cinemark Dallas & IMAX in Dallas, and Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan & IMAX in Ontario, Canada.
In a message to The Times, Taylor Umphenour, an Imax 70mm projectionist, expressed that the pleasure viewers derive from watching the movie in this format is unparalleled. He added that there’s a tremendous amount of effort put into each screening by everyone involved. It’s truly rewarding for him to project these fully-booked shows while maintaining the highest quality presentation standards, as the audience’s appreciation is heartfelt and immense.
Patrick Caldwell, Cinemark Dallas’s projectionist, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming re-release by stating that “nearly every screening we’ve scheduled has already been booked.
