Ruth Wilson’s “gripping” British thriller from Slow Horses boss confirms return with “twisted mystery”

The thriller series Down Cemetery Road, starring Ruth Wilson, will return for a second season. The show, which premiered on Apple TV in October, centers around a woman and an investigator working together to solve the mystery of an explosion in an Oxford neighborhood.

The TV series, based on a novel by Mick Herron (author of Slow Horses), recently finished its first season and has been renewed for another.

Wilson and Emma Thompson will both reprise their roles as Sarah Trafford and Zoë Boehm, investigating a new and complex case.

Things become dangerous and life-threatening when the group crosses paths with a ruthless serial killer determined to hide his actions at any cost.

Thompson expressed her excitement about the show’s renewal, and commended the team behind it, including writer Morwenna Banks, who also wrote for Slow Horses and is returning to write again.

She also highly complimented Wilson, calling her a remarkably strong and talented co-star – truly, she felt Wilson was better than she deserved, especially as an experienced actress herself.

The actress said she loves playing Zoë Boehm, describing the character as fun and edgy, and is excited to return to the role. She thanked viewers for their support, saying the show will continue because of them.
