Rust Mobile to kick off a 7-day Alpha Test for Android in Canada within February 2025

Story Highlights

  • Rust Mobile’s alpha test is set to run for seven days exclusively on Android devices in Canada this February 2025.
  • Players will get an early hands-on experience, but strict NDA rules will prevent sharing gameplay or content publicly.
  • Additionally, all progress and data will be wiped after the test concludes.

Looking forward to next year’s alpha test in February 2025, Rust Mobile, the much-anticipated mobile adaption of the popular survival action game Rust, is preparing for your participation. If you reside in Canada and own an Android device, this could be your opportunity to get a sneak peek at this mobile adaptation and enjoy the unique gaming experience it offers.

Regarding Rust, this game was first introduced in 2013 by the team at Facepunch Studios. The game immerses you in a world where you must manage your hunger, thirst, and health while dealing with threats such as wild animals and competing players. Its blend of player-versus-player combat, crafting, and base construction has contributed significantly to its immense popularity.

The dates of the Rust Mobile Alpha Test are yet to be announced

Last year in January, I got wind that a mobile version of Rust was being developed under the guidance of Level Infinite. After that announcement, Facepunch Studios confirmed the development of Rust Mobile towards the end of 2024. It was further hinted that we could expect some limited tests early in 2025, and luckily for us gamers, that’s exactly what happened!

Hey there fellow gamer! Exciting news for us Canucks – the alpha testing is solely for Android users like ourselves up here in Canada. To join the fun, make sure your device is top-tier with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 6 GB of RAM, and at least 4 GB of free storage. But don’t worry if you meet these requirements, because this test will only last for seven days. Just keep in mind that all data will be wiped afterward, so save your game progress beforehand. Also, there won’t be any in-game purchases or monetization features during this phase, so it’s completely free to play!

It’s probable that the game will closely resemble its original in terms of gameplay, but may include additional features designed for mobile usage. However, due to its demanding system requirements, it seems that only high-end mobile devices would be capable of running the game smoothly.

Please note that due to strict confidentiality, you’ll need to agree to a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). This means abstaining from live streaming, taking screenshots, or sharing any gameplay content. As of now, the sign-up page, specific test dates, and a complete release timeline haven’t been disclosed yet. However, you can stay informed by checking this space regularly and joining Rust Mobile’s Discord server for updates.
