Russell Brand’s MAGA Resurrection: From Allegations to Trump’s Inner Circle

Last Sunday, Russell Brand received the title of ‘Global Champion for Freedom’ at an elegant formal event held in the grand ballroom of Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s luxurious estate located in Palm Beach, Florida.

In my perspective, I recently attended an event that was spearheaded by General Mike Flynn, a fervent advocate for Christian nationalism. He served briefly as Donald Trump’s security advisor and currently heads America’s Future, an organization dedicated to preserving and championing ‘American values and traditions.’

The individual under discussion, a comedian and actor originally from Essex who has been accused of numerous sexual assaults but maintains his innocence, was by no means the sole contentious character present. On the contrary, he seemed to fit seamlessly among others with questionable reputations.

In that same place, boxer Mike Tyson, who was previously convicted of rape and now cultivates marijuana, was also present. Guitarist Ted Nugent, known for his controversial views such as denying the existence of transgender people and defending gun rights, which he believes are unfairly blamed for school shootings, has essentially been blacklisted by the music industry due to these stances.

In the meantime, Organizer Flynn is recognized for his stance on temporarily suspending the U.S. Constitution and conducting an election under military rule following Donald Trump’s loss to Joe Biden in 2020.

Over the weekend, they were spotted enjoying each other’s company, along with the charismatic Dr. Mehmet Oz, a former TV physician now appointed by Trump to manage Medicare. The trio flashed their smiles while posing with a puzzling northern curly-tailed lizard in hand.

As an ardent admirer, I must confess it’s quite extraordinary – an image so unexpected that it would cause even the most composed liberals to sputter on their matcha lattes. A sight unimaginable just a few years back, it’s like we’ve stepped into a parallel universe.

Initially known as a flamboyant, sophisticated comedian sporting guyliner, who was popular among Britain’s liberal left and even contributed to The Guardian, Brand has now undergone a complete transformation, becoming a favorite figure of America’s far-right conservative group.

He’s found favor with influential circles – a group consisting of vaccine skeptics, conspiracy theorists, and those who seek controversy, much like himself. In fact, it appears that Brand, who hasn’t been convicted of any criminal charges regarding historic sexual misconduct allegations by four women, has become just as much of a supporter of the MAGA movement (often symbolized by a red Make America Great Again cap) as any of them.

In his current environment, it appears nobody seems to care much about his previous life history. There are reports suggesting that he was present at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Last year, Brand publicly announced that he had become a devout Christian, as he was baptized in the River Thames by his friend, the well-known adventurer Bear Grylls.

‘My life has changed. Praise Jesus,’ he wrote.

Apart from being a follower of Christianity himself, he often performs the ritual of baptizing others. On September 27 last year, he posted photos on Facebook showing him baptizing a new convert in a river and captioned it: ‘Although it might appear quick to baptize people, the Apostles did it on their first day, so here we go.’

As the diver dons a wetsuit, Brand opts for eye-catching white briefs and a man bun, demonstrating his flair for the dramatic.

Since then, he has engaged in prayer with conservative commentator Tucker Carlson and maintained a close relationship with Jordan Peterson, a prominent right-wing figure who was temporarily banned from Twitter for expressing opinions on gender identity. This connection seems quite distant from his original environment, and indeed, it is.

Currently, the brand resides in a luxurious rental bungalow worth $1 million, situated in the idyllic coastal town of Seaside on Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. This move took place towards the end of last year with his wife, Laura Gallacher, and their three young offspring, mere days before the presidential election.

In a recent statement, Brand expressed: ‘I no longer reside in the UK as I’ve witnessed firsthand that when one becomes troublesome or inconvenient, the media, government, and judiciary may seek means to undermine or silence you.’

37-year-old Laura, sister of TV host Kirsty, who got married in 2017, is rumored to be sharing her husband’s recent spiritual enthusiasm. Recently, it was disclosed that they partake in daily communion, a practice he referred to as ‘quite beautiful and beneficial for our marriage’.

Growing up, Laura often visited Florida since her dad, renowned golfer Bernard Gallacher, frequently competed there. As a child, the family would vacation in the region during golf tournaments, which may be why Laura eventually chose this part of Florida as her own.

It appears that Brand may find Florida ideal due to its strong Maga influence, considering Trump received an impressive 79% of the votes in the county where Seaside is located, while Kamala Harris only managed 21% in the November elections.

Moreover, nothing could make the scenery any more beautiful. Known as the Emerald Coast due to its lush gardens that cascade towards pristine beaches (adorned with million-dollar homes), Seaside was where the 1998 film starring Jim Carrey, The Truman Show, was filmed.

As for the locals, they seem delighted with the eccentric, bearded, English newcomer.

‘Americans and especially Christians love a good redemption story,’ one told the Mail this week.

The resident noted that this region is not just strongly Christian, but also deeply supportive of Make America Great Again (MAGA). They went on to say that Trump is revered here, and Russell, who aligns with these views, is welcomed and adored by the locals.

‘It’s been reported that he’s always around. I know people who have run into him at various places such as churches, farmer’s markets on weekends, beaches, or the town square in Seaside. It seems like everyone wants a piece of him – they ask for his autograph and snap photos with him. He appears to be quite friendly.’

Frequently visiting the Modica market is a man who’s usually accompanied by his family. He interacts amicably with others, often purchasing sweets for his children and various items. There seems to be no need for security or an entourage around him.

At the local farmer’s market, a seller mentioned that they would be there on Saturdays. They were friendly and engaged me in conversation, showing genuine interest by inquiring about my day.

Last December 6th, I had the pleasure of attending a lovely wedding ceremony held at The Chapel by the Sea. Earlier that day, I happened to meet some groomsmen on the beach, who graciously extended an invitation to me.

On Wednesdays, he often visits a restaurant in town, and it was there on that day as well. One of the employees mentioned that he dislikes being secluded in a corner, stating instead that he is quite sociable and engages with everyone around him when present.

On one occasion, he gathered 15 individuals for a meal. While the restaurant offered a secluded private room for dining, he chose not to use it. Instead, he preferred to sit at a table closer to the restaurant’s front area.

Despite letting go of veganism late last year, he hasn’t abandoned yoga and regularly attends classes 15 miles from his residence in Miramar Beach. On social media, he’s been known to express his newfound appreciation for a good steak. Additionally, he is an active member at the Good News Church in Santa Rosa Beach, where he strives to emulate Jesus more closely.

Previously notorious for his scandalous sexual escapades and open discussions about them, Brand now primarily focuses on creating content, specifically videos, which he shares on the social media platform Rumble. Among these include an interview series titled ‘Breaking Bread’ and another named ‘Awakened Wonders’.

Originally manufactured in an old pub in Berkshire, England, they are now being produced by a newly assembled team based in the United States, who focus on this endeavor.

Besides his Christian beliefs and controversial perspectives, the shows have granted Brand considerable influence. He boasts 11.3 million followers on X platform and over two million subscribers on Rumble, with some opting for a £7.75 monthly fee to access exclusive content. It appears that his strategy is proving successful, as the latest financial reports to Companies House indicate a growth of £3.2 million in the company’s assets over the past year up until December 2023.

The business firm that belongs to Pablo Diablo, named Legitimate Business Firm Limited, currently holds over £8 million in assets.

The timeframe of the investigations encompasses the duration following multiple grave accusations against his past sexual behavior, which were presented by Channel 4’s Despatches and The Sunday Times. Since the groundbreaking investigation was aired in September 2023, he has been interviewed on three occasions under caution, with four women accusing him of rape, sexual misconduct, and emotional abuse.

The accusations encompassed the years between 2006 and 2013, a period during which Brand was particularly popular and held hosting roles at BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4, as well as acting in Hollywood. Brand has maintained his innocence, asserting that all of his sexual encounters were consensual.

His former employers, including the BBC, have since started inquiries into his conduct.

Last month, a critical report was released by the BBC, admitting mistakes in handling complaints. The report highlighted particular management flaws due to perceptions of a close bond between Brand and Lesley Douglas, who was then in charge of Radio 2 at that time. Regarding Brand’s on-air behavior, the report noted: ‘It is noteworthy how frequently the compliance forms for his pre-recorded shows merely documented actions that should have been corrected.’

In November, Metropolitan Police investigators submitted an evidence package to the Crown Prosecution Authority, who have yet to announce if charges will be brought against him.

Indeed, given that Brand is comfortably settled in Florida, having a close relationship with the U.S. President, his potential legal charges might lead to extended extradition processes should they arise.

Brand appears content to bide his time in this location. In a recent video, with the mesmerizing ocean as a backdrop, he expressed affectionately about his latest residence: “It’s like being in Disneyland, it’s extraordinary. At a recent event for America’s Future, held at Mar-a-Lago, he was seated next to Mel Gibson – one of Trump’s representatives in Hollywood. During the dinner, Gibson quietly shared with Brand that his house had been destroyed in the California wildfires. Brand appeared thrilled by the proximity to Hollywood elite and excitedly discussed the event on X, which is now known as Twitter.

It’s quite amusing, actually. Despite his attempts at acting, he didn’t quite achieve the success he desired. His 2008 romantic comedy, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” was a big hit, but following projects failed to resonate as strongly, likely due to the lack of public interest in his over-the-top performances and distinctive nasal voice.

Now that Brand has integrated himself into Trump’s influential circle in Florida, it seems he has finally earned a spot on the A-list.
