Daisy Ridley may have found her own Indiana Jones-like movie to star in.
Ridley is well-known for her role as Rey in the Star Wars series. Apart from the Lucasfilm franchise, she has also recently appeared in movies like “Sometimes I Think About Dying” (2023), “Young Woman and the Sea” (2024), and “Cleaner” (2025).
What do we know about the new Daisy Ridley movie?
According to sources such as Daniel Richtman, it appears that actress Ridley is currently in talks to take on a role in Disney’s adaptation of the comic series “Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant.” Daniel Richtman describes this story as an action-packed adventure centered around Delilah, a modern-day, charmingly unstoppable protagonist akin to Indiana Jones.
Although it’s still unconfirmed, Deadline previously reported that Disney acquired the movie rights for Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant back in 2016. The story initially began as a webcomic by author Tony Cliff, later evolving into several graphic novels.
The narrative centers around Delilah, who’s been likened to a female version of Indiana Jones. Skilled in forty-seven different sword-fighting methods, she uses her blade to duel with pirates and makes daring escapes in her airship. She continues her worldwide quest for thrilling experiences, as the source reported.
Initially, Deadline reported that Roy Lee, Mark Mower, and Justin Giritlian were producing the Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant for Disney. Since then, there’s been very little news about this project after 2016, leaving us in doubt as to whether they will still be involved if Ridley Scott’s version of the story actually moves forward.
In addition to her roles, Ridley is set to grace our screens in a new romantic comedy film called “The Last Resort.” Directed by Donald Petrie, the movie finds her character as a hotel executive sent to explore potential resort locations in the Philippines. During her stay, she encounters and swiftly develops feelings for a character portrayed by Alden Ehrenreich, leaving her to contemplate whether to remain with him or return back home.
