RUMOR: Andy Serkis to return in Andor Season 2
As a hardcore Star Wars fan with over two decades of fandom under my belt, I must admit that the possibility of Kino Loy making a return in Andor Season 2 has me buzzing like a TIE fighter on hyperdrive. The character’s brief but impactful appearances in Season 1 left an indelible mark on me, and the prospect of seeing him again is almost too good to be true.
With the approaching finale of Disney+’s “Andor,” discussions among fans about possible guest stars have started up again. There’s a buzzing theory that fan-favorite character Kino Loy might reappear in upcoming episodes of the series.
Given his apparent fate in Season 1, it seems unlikely he’ll return. However, remember this is Star Wars – if we didn’t see a clear ending, or even if we did, anything can happen. Somehow, Kino Loy might have come back. It’d be exciting to revisit him, despite the long odds.
Among the standout scenes from the initial season of the Star Wars series, Andor, are those involving Kino Loy. Though it seems likely that he didn’t make it through the prison break in his last episode, a rumor has sparked intrigue about whether his character or the actor who portrayed him could reappear in some capacity.

Andy Serkis hadn’t made his debut in Star Wars just this time; he played Supreme Leader Snoke in the sequel trilogy too. So, working on Andor was like a revisit to the galaxy far, far away for him. The fact that he could appear on screen with his real face and body made it feel more authentic or “escaped” the usual method of performance capture. Therefore, there’s no reason to rule out the possibility of him playing a new character in Star Wars again.
It’s just exciting conjecture, and there haven’t been any statements from Lucasfilm on this matter. Nevertheless, who wouldn’t jump at the chance to envision which Star Wars characters Andy Serkis might bring his legendary voice to in the future?
Andor Season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ in April 2025.
