Ruby Rose reveals details of the night she alleges Katy Perry sexually assaulted her in a newspaper article over a decade ago

A previously published article from ten years ago is now supporting Ruby Rose’s allegations that Katy Perry sexually assaulted her at a Melbourne nightclub on August 15, 2010.

In a 2011 article for the Herald Sun, Rose detailed a night out in Melbourne where, after drinking, he vomited on Perry. Both men were 40 at the time.

They kicked off their evening by unexpectedly showing up at a high school prom held at the Grant Hyatt, and then continued the night at Spice Market, a nightclub inside the same hotel.

Rose recently recounted a particularly embarrassing night where she lost her dignity and her keys. She doesn’t remember crashing her year 12 formal with Katy Perry, explaining she was 30 days sober – her first time trying to quit drinking – and had been out celebrating with the singer.

I do remember thinking I deserved a drink, and wondering what the harm could be. It turned out the harm was not being able to stop at just one – or even ten – and ultimately throwing up on Katy’s foot.

Rose maintained that the night wasn’t bad at all, actually calling it ‘one of the best decisions’ she’d ever made.

Rose claims Perry sexually assaulted her on the same night while she was lying on a friend’s lap.

Rose claimed she then ‘projectile vomited’ on the Firework hitmaker. 

She added that it had taken her ‘almost two decades’ to speak about it publicly.

‘I’m now 40. It has taken almost two decades to say this publicly,’ she said.

A spokesperson for Katy Perry strongly denied Ruby Rose’s claims, telling the Daily Mail that the allegations shared on social media are completely untrue and harmful.

Ms. Rose frequently makes serious accusations against people on social media, but those accused have consistently denied her claims.

Footage from that night recently reappeared online, revealing that Perry had actually attended a high school formal as a surprise for his fans.

A previous employee of the nightclub verified that Rose and Perry were both there together that evening.

A former employee claimed the celebrities had consumed excessive alcohol and were discreetly escorted out a back exit when they departed the club.

Victoria Police are now looking into the claims Rose made about pop star Perry, regarding sexual assault.

Detectives from Melbourne’s Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) are looking into a sexual assault that happened in Melbourne in 2010, police said Wednesday.

‘Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD.’

Because the investigation is still in progress, they said it’s not possible to share any more details right now.

Rose has posted on Threads that she’s unable to discuss the incident further because the police are now investigating what she reported.

The Australian star announced on Tuesday that they had finished all their reports earlier that day.
