Roy Kent’s Fate in ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4: Brett Goldstein’s Cryptic Tease
Brett Goldstein, renowned for bringing Roy Kent to life in the popular Apple TV+ series “Ted Lasso”, is preparing for the upcoming fourth season of the show. The news of its renewal sparked joy among fans who thought it might not continue beyond Season 3. However, it appears that some cherished characters from the comedy sports series will make a comeback.
In a chat with USA Today, Goldstein shared some tidbits about Ted Lasso Season 4. At present, Goldstein is involved in the writing process for the upcoming season, where Jason Sudeikis’ character, Ted Lasso, will focus on a new team other than AFC Richmond. While Roy Kent, played by Goldstein, could potentially lead an English soccer team, it seems he won’t be coaching this time around. When asked if Roy Kent would appear in Season 4, Goldstein simply stated, “All I can say is that I’m back for Season 4 as an executive producer and writer.
Is it possible that Roy Kent won’t appear in Ted Lasso Season 4? Not necessarily. He might be keeping secrets for a reason. At this point, it’s premature to make predictions about the show’s future since its release date hasn’t been announced yet. The way Season 3 concluded made it seem like we had seen the last of Ted coaching soccer, but creator Dan Goldstein hinted that he’s hopeful the series will continue: there may still be more Lasso-led soccer ahead.
I shed tears during our heartfelt farewell, yet somehow, a small part of me held onto hope that it might not truly be the last goodbye. The world around us seemed so beautiful and enchanting, as if there must be more to experience. Eventually, I accepted that it may not transpire as planned. However, when it eventually unfolded, I found myself thinking, ‘Ah, marvelous.’ Yet, I wasn’t entirely taken aback.
Brett Goldstein’s Success After ‘Ted Lasso’ Explained
Jason Sudeikis, an accomplished English actor and scriptwriter, has enjoyed a prosperous journey in both film and television. However, it was his portrayal of Roy Kent that catapulted him to fame. He’s also recognized for his work as a writer and executive producer on the hit Apple TV+ series, which significantly helped in selling Shrinking to the streaming platform. In another comedy production, co-created by Bill Lawrence from Ted Lasso, Goldstein contributes as a writer and co-creator. The second season of Shrinking welcomed him into the cast as Louis Winston, and according to the season finale, he will reappear in the upcoming Season 3, which has already been renewed.
2023 saw me stepping into a new realm of entertainment as I embarked on a stand-up comedy tour titled “The Second Best Night of Your Life”. This adventure will culminate in a TV special airing on HBO this coming Saturday, April 26, at 10pm ET. In an interview with USA Today, I shared my passion for stand-up humor: “I’m head over heels for stand-up comedy. It’s the purest form because there’s no need for discussions or negotiations. With stand-up, I can have an idea in the afternoon, give it a shot that same day, and if it clicks, fantastic! If not, no sweat – we gave it a go.
