Roxy Jacenko says it’s ‘easier to run six businesses’ than to face ‘boring existence’ of raising two children: ‘There’s only so many hours Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada are open’
As a dedicated follower of Roxy Jacenko’s career trajectory, it’s fascinating to see how she navigates her professional and personal life with such zest and determination. Her journey is a testament to the fact that one can thrive in multiple arenas, provided they have the passion and drive to do so.
On Sunday, Roxy Jacenco emphasized that she was never meant for the role of a traditional homemaker, and instead, manages six businesses more effortlessly.
The skilled public relations expert, aged 44, praised stay-at-home mothers, expressing admiration as she had experienced caring for a child at home for approximately six months. She added that if that were her full-time job, it would undoubtedly be one of the most challenging positions anyone could hold.
With her husband Oliver Curtis, Roxy expressed that she found staying at home to be incredibly dull, according to The Sunday Telegraph.
She expressed her frustration by saying, “There’s absolutely nothing entertaining about this place. Traditional homemaking duties don’t appeal to me at all. To put it bluntly, I’ve done so much shopping that I’m now at a point where I can’t shop any more.
Indeed, my talent agency business, Ministry of Talent, is functioning well and requires daily attention. However, it doesn’t quite satisfy my ambitions entirely.
As a devoted enthusiast, I find myself with an abundance of time on my hands each day, but alas, my favorite luxury brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Prada have limited opening hours, leaving me with precious little opportunity to indulge in their offerings.
Roxy mentioned that managing her job and operating six businesses feels simpler compared to taking care of two kids. She even joked about preferring to manage a whole country instead of helping with homework.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Roxy for further comment.
It comes after Roxy confirmed in September she has made a return to publicity and Sydney two years after stepping down as director of Sweaty Betty.
According to Daily Mail Australia, Roxy stated that she is going back to Sweaty Betty PR and will be welcoming a select group of clients once again.
‘Discovering how to take a break from work and appreciate other aspects of life has been fulfilling, yet at times it can feel quite monotonous!’
‘I wasn’t cut out for the housewife life!’
Later on, she subtly hinted at her upcoming plans by announcing the news to her Instagram audience.
The photo showed Roxy’s hand on the driving wheel of her car with her WhatsApp messages visible on her open laptop.
In November of 2022, I found myself making a bold move – stepping away from my career in PR. Some might call it a mid-life crisis, but let’s just say it was a much-needed change! Fast forward to today, and it feels like I’ve stepped right back into the old days… and oh boy, does it feel good to be here again!
‘I have worked since I was 14-years-old,’ Roxy continued.
‘It’s all I know and to be frank, I’m good at it, so it’s time to get going again.’
I’m thrilled to share that although my base remains in the vibrant city of Singapore, I’ve got an exciting new routine lined up! Once a month, I’ll be jetting off to Sydney for a whole week, where I’ll be stationed at Sweaty Betty’s offices nestled in its eastern suburbs. This commute is not just a journey, but a passion that drives me closer to the heart of my work!
‘I’ll be based in Singapore with my family but do a week a month in Sydney at my Double Bay HQ. With a mere 2-hour time difference working out of Singapore when I am not in Sydney is very feasible.’
In the year 2023, Roxy embarked on a journey with her loved ones towards Singapore, determined that their destination would be permanent and Sydney would no longer be their home.
She expressed that she has no intention of returning, and regrettably shared this news with Daily Mail Australia earlier this year.
Australia holds a special place in my heart. To clarify, gazing upon the ocean from here is truly delightful, yet there’s an added charm for me in being so conveniently near numerous diverse locations.
Ever since touching down in the vibrant city of Singapore, I’ve embarked on incredible journeys to Thailand, Vietnam, and India – places that have transported me far from the familiarity of Australia. Now, my world has burst into a riot of colors as I dive headfirst into new adventures and experiences!
