EastEnders star Ross Kemp is set to read the CBeebies Bedtime Story from the EastEnders set.

For this month’s celebration of the BBC soap opera’s 40th anniversary, the actor, aged 60, will once again play the character of tough guy Grant Mitchell from Walford.

To celebrate this significant event, Ross is set to guest star on a cherished kids’ show, where he’ll narrate a tale about feuding squirrels, a story originating from the program’s renowned café.

On Monday, the popular soap actor will settle down in the well-known yellow chair from CBeebies Bedtime Stories to narrate Rachel Bright and Jim Field’s tale titled “The Squirrels Who Squabbled.

The story revolves around Cyril and Bruce, two squirrels often accused of being selfish, as they navigate challenges in their friendship and fairness while trying to acquire the final nut left for harvesting during the season.

The story aims to provide an enjoyable and thought-stimulating learning experience for kids, teaching them empathy and encouraging them to view the world from various perspectives.

According to Ross, Cyril and Bruce discovered that collaborating is simpler and more enjoyable than quarreling. Of course, there are times when we argue with others, including family members.

The topic clearly pays tribute to Ross’ character Grant’s tumultuous bond with his brother Phil, portrayed by Steve McFadden. Over the years, they’ve had numerous heated arguments, with the main sources of conflict often being the females in their lives.

It comes as Ross recently expressed his joy at returning to EastEnders after nine years away.

He shared with The Sun, “Coming back to EastEnders at this milestone moment feels incredibly significant and honorable for me since the show holds such a special place in my heart.

Although Grant’s return will only be temporary, Ross emphasized that it would have a significant impact.

He went on to say, ‘He definitely makes a big return – there wasn’t enough time for a gradual introduction. If you were part of the inner circle on EastEnders, there’s no gentle welcome when he comes back.’

In other locations, surprising images from EastEnders hint at a fire engulfing the Queen Vic pub – possibly claiming one character along with it.

Remarkable promotional images reveal a dramatic scene where the famous tavern is seen engulfed in flames, and one cast character can be spotted amidst the debris, apparently injured and lying on the ground.

An insider from within the show revealed to The Mirror that the Queen Vic will experience an explosion, which is a key element of the program’s intense narrative in the upcoming days.

Following a car crash into a pub, there’s no doubt that it will lead to confusion and potentially mark the end of the road for one or more individuals involved.

The latest sneak peeks display an immense blast occurring, causing speculation among fans as to which characters might be at risk.

For decades, this soap opera, starting from its inception in 1985, has been witness to numerous murders, blazes, and an excessive amount of nail-biting cliffs.

But the 40th anniversary episode looks like being its most dramatic yet.

Earlier images unveiled from the £87 million production show Albert Square in a unique light, displaying the Queen Vic’s shattered windows and nearby roads covered in debris.

In a captivating twist intended to draw viewers back to BBC’s popular series that had been experiencing a downturn, the plotline features a dramatic blast tearing through a fictitious pub. Notable landladies of this pub include Peggy Mitchell (portrayed by the late Dame Barbara Windsor) and Anita Dobson’s character, Angie Watts.

The pavement seems to have traces of something resembling blood, causing worry that beloved characters from this show might be in danger.
