As I delve deeper into the captivating narrative of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, her resilience and grace under adversity truly stand out. The rug being pulled from under one’s feet is an experience many can relate to, but it’s the way she navigates these challenges that makes her story so inspiring.

Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley disclosed an incident where she was dismissed from a photo shoot due to being considered “curvier” at the time.

Currently, Beauty, aged 37, ranks among the globe’s leading models. Her career has soared to great heights, marked by appearances in numerous advertising campaigns, gracing various catwalks, and earning the esteemed title of a Victoria’s Secret ‘Angel’.

Yet, Rosie found that the path to success was not without its challenges, as she shared during her recent conversation with NET-A-PORTER’s online magazine PORTER. In this engaging interview, she graced the cover with several captivating images.

Looking back at the initial phase of her modeling journey, the celebrity from Plymouth shared an experience where, amid countless auditions, she was let go from a photo shoot due to not fitting the desired body type.

She expressed: “I consider myself lucky to have witnessed the entire spectrum of this industry since when I first began, I carried my tube ticket [London’s subway], portfolio, and high heels in my bag. I participated in castings with hundreds of other girls, ending up in isolated locations at odd hours, getting into cars with unfamiliar drivers, being dismissed from photo shoots because I was deemed ‘too wholesome’ or ‘too curvaceous.’

At the tender age of sixteen, Rosie embarked on her modeling journey with her debut appearance in a Levi jeans advertisement.

Previously, Rosie had planned to do an internship at a modeling agency, but later landed the job instead. Earlier on, she remembered spending time composing letters to fashion companies and retailers as a way of trying to gain access.

Rosie finally got her major opportunity when she was chosen as the representative for Burberry. This significant recognition came five years following the incident where she wasn’t selected in a photoshoot.

This ignited a successful career marked by numerous magazine cover appearances, partnerships with high-end brands, and an agreement with Victoria’s Secret.

However, the unexpected move took many industry insiders aback when the model decided to part ways with the lingerie company to introduce her own line in collaboration with high-street retailer Marks & Spencer. Later, Rosie admitted to feeling anxious about potential exclusion due to this change.

She expressed: ‘I realized any moment could come when they might declare, “Rosie is absent.” I’ve witnessed it happen with numerous women – they were employed for 15 years, and suddenly it was, “She’s past her prime and gaining some weight.” That’s how this field operates. I thought to myself, that won’t be my fate.’

13 years on, and despite garnering considerable attention due to her collaboration with the popular retailer, the partnership between them remains robust. It’s estimated that approximately one out of every fifty British women now owns a bra from her collection.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my admiration for the incredible Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Known not just for her striking beauty, but also for her versatile talent in acting, as seen in Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Mad Max: Fury Road. In a heartfelt conversation with a publication, she candidly revealed that her journey to success hasn’t been without its hurdles.

She shared: ‘Success is so easy when something works out quickly. But when you’ve gone through sort of adversity, or you’ve had these challenging moments, and you’ve had the rug pulled from under your feet – professionally and personally – [that’s] where you go to the real depths of yourself. In the moment, it feels horrendous.’

Rosie went on to add that one grows ‘more perspective’ the more time passes by, noting that a person has to understand a ‘side of yourself’ that is ‘resilient’.

Over the course of time, you’ll gain a broader viewpoint, discovering an aspect of yourself that is remarkably resilient.

As a die-hard admirer, let me recount how powerfully resolute Rosie appeared during her recent interview. She shared that currently, she feels ‘less compelled to validate myself’, which is truly remarkable given the stark contrast to just a few years ago when she was in a completely different mental state, as she put it, ‘in a different headspace’.

In her career, Rosie has achieved great success, and this triumph continues in her personal life, largely due to her longstanding relationship with actor Jason Statham, who at 57 years old, she finds incredibly amusing and entertaining.

In the year 2009, this pair crossed paths for the first time. Later, they became engaged in the year 2016. They are blessed with a family of four, including their six-year-old son, Jack, and their two-year-old daughter, Isabella.

They prefer to mostly shield their kids from the public spotlight, with Rosie explaining that she’s conscious about the level of exposure they receive.

She also mentioned that she intends to take every necessary step to safeguard them, as it is their decision whether they wish to lead a ‘public existence’ or not.

One reason why she and Jason decided to move from Los Angeles to the UK was because they were frequently pursued by paparazzi whenever they stepped out of their home in America.

In discussions about her family life, Rosie shared an amusing incident where her children often remind her of her humility. Once, someone requested a photograph from her, but her son interjected, pointing out that it’s actually their father who is the well-known figure in the household!
