Roseanne Barr’s New Life: From Controversy to Charming Texas Homestead
Roseanne Barr has embraced a quieter life in Texas.
In a recent chat with Us Weekly, Jake Pentland shared that his 72-year-old mother, the actress, is delighting in her role as a grandmother, operates a tractor, and skillfully employs a chainsaw to manage tree branches.
Approximately seven years following ABC’s decision to end Roseanne’s rebooted sitcom due to a sequence of racially charged tweets, the actress has been dedicating her attention to her personal family affairs.
‘My mom lives with me, my wife and my two daughters. She’s the best grandma,’ Jake, 47, shared.
In simpler terms, ‘We own thirty acres located in an area known as the Hill Country. Roseanne frequently operates the tractor for lawn-mowing purposes, and she often drives it around. While she sometimes collides with trees, she manages to keep our yard well-kept,’ he explained.
Previously residing in Hawaii, Roseanne now uses a chainsaw to neatly prune tree branches, ensuring they stay clear of any children.
When she has free time away from caring for her grandchildren, Roseanne tends to her garden, cultivating peppers.
Apart from that, he additionally disclosed that Roseanne collaborates with him on a weekly podcast, and they both derive significant pleasure from this shared activity.
Jake shared that his mom might return to TV ‘soon’ and has been writing scripts.
‘You might just see her on TV again soon. You never know,’ he said.
Jake mentioned that although Roseanne is currently content in Texas, she might relocate to Palm Beach, Florida at some point in the future.
She has numerous friends residing in the city center, and when she visits, she tends to walk quite a bit, occasionally pausing, but not significantly so.
But, he mentioned that it might not occur until late autumn or even a full year down the line, and that there are yet-to-be-completed projects on their schedule prior to her moving.

The doting grandmother has also been sharing adorable snaps with her grandkids.
Apart from hosting her podcast, she’s also been involved with a Netflix production titled “Kill Tony” which was shot in Austin, Texas.
Roseanne has children, including Jake, Jennifer, and Jessica, with her former husband Bill Pentland, who she was wedded to from 1974 to 1990.
Apart from that, she is a mother to son Buck Thomas, who is from her previous marriage with Ben Thomas. Interestingly, Roseanne gave birth to daughter Brandi Brown when she was just 17 years old. She made the decision to place Brandi for adoption; however, they later reconnected.
Since her dismissal from her self-titled sitcom in 2019 due to a remark perceived as racist by many, Roseanne’s life has undergone significant transformation.

She playfully hinted at her upcoming appearance on television again, this time in a fresh comedy series that she co-wrote with renowned TV producer Allan Stephan, most famous for his contributions to HBO’s Arli$ and Roseanne.
Based on Variety’s report, the upcoming show featuring Barr is rumored to blend elements of “The Roseanne Show” and “The Sopranos.” In simpler terms, it seems to combine the sitcom-style humor of “The Roseanne Show” with the dramatic storytelling of “The Sopranos.
The award-winning show, it was disclosed, will revolve around a ‘farmer residing in a rural Alabama town, who’s taking action to protect the U.S. from drug cartels and China.’
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share that the captivating character seems to have a secret side hustle – cultivating and peddling substances such as marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, let me share a personal observation: It’s quite extraordinary, to say the least. The content in question is far from conventional, filled with strong language and ideas that might offend many. My living space happens to be shared with my daughter, her husband, and their six delightful children on a farm. On occasion, we have friendly goats wandering indoors, adding a touch of rural charm to our daily lives.
Barr noted it was loosely based on her ‘life as a farmer in Hawaii.’
I’ve found myself embarking on a new acting venture, making it my comeback project following the controversy surrounding my comments regarding Valerie Jarrett, which were deemed as offensive and conflicting with the network’s ethical standards.
In a particularly disrespectful tweet, she labeled Jarrett as a descendant of the Muslim Brotherhood and an inhabitant of ‘Planet of the Apes.’ (This is an attempt to rephrase the original statement while maintaining its essence but using less offensive language.)
After receiving substantial backlash, she deleted the post and apologized to Jarrett.
She expressed apologies to Valerie Jarrett and all Americans through a tweet, acknowledging that the joke she made about her political views and appearance was inappropriate. She admitted she should have been more aware and understood that her joke crossed the line of good taste. Please forgive her.
After several months had passed, during her initial television appearance following her dismissal due to the tweet, Barr pondered over how that single tweet led to the loss of nearly everything she had.
I wholeheartedly stand by my claim that my tweet was misunderstood, and I’ve already extended more than enough apologies for my behavior. As a die-hard fan, I can say that my intentions were never malicious, and I believe the truth should be acknowledged.
She expressed that she has already offered an apology, clarified the situation, requested forgiveness, and made amends,” she stated.
Later on, she clarified that she herself is not racist, nor are those who cast their votes for Trump. She also emphasized that Trump himself is not a racist. However, she acknowledged that they simply hold differing viewpoints.
