As a gamer who has been immersed in the world of TV and media for quite some time, I must say that Rose Ayling-Ellis‘ transformation from her iconic role in EastEnders to her new character in Code of Silence is nothing short of breathtaking. It’s like witnessing a digital avatar leveling up to a higher tier!
Previously known EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis appears dramatically transformed in the initial images released for her part in the ITV crime series titled Code of Silence.
The six-part series centres around Alison Woods (Ayling-Ellis), a Deaf catering worker who is struggling to make ends meet while supporting her Deaf mother Julie. She juggles two jobs, one of which is in a police canteen.
In a thrilling turn of events, I find myself stepping into an electrifying realm when Detective Constable Ashleigh Francis enlists my lip-reading skills to decode the clandestine chatter of treacherous criminals. Yet, the intrigue intensifies as I inadvertently become entangled with Liam, a key figure under scrutiny by the police force.
In fresh photos published by The Sun, Ayling-Ellis appears dramatically different compared to the set of her upcoming drama in St Albans.

On Friday (September 20), while filming scenes around the Fade to Black coffee shop in St Albans, Ayling-Ellis was snapped donning a cozy green fleece jacket, a roomy grey t-shirt dress, and a pair of comfortable Crocs with socks.
For the part she played, her usual long tresses were changed into a more moderate, shoulder-length cut.
The “Code of Silence” was penned by Catherine Moulton from Baptiste, and the esteemed production house, Mammoth Screen, is set to bring it to life.
Ayling-Ellis expressed her excitement back when it was announced that she’d be joining the cast of “Code of Silence” and working with the exceptional crew at Mammoth Screen, stating so in a prior interview.
Upon initially perusing Catherine Moulton’s script, it was clear that her direct encounters and comprehension had allowed her to create an exceptionally genuine character. I immediately felt compelled to join this endeavor.

I’m thrilled that ITV shares our enthusiasm about bringing this project to reality, and I can hardly contain my excitement to begin working on it!
2021 has kept Ayling-Ellis quite occupied. Back in May, she secured a part in the innovative BBC show, Reunion. This series is characterized as an “emotionally charged tale of retribution and atonement.
A large portion of the actors and several production team members from the four-part show are either deaf themselves or communicate using British Sign Language.
2021’s “Strictly Come Dancing” winner is also preparing to present a new documentary for the broadcaster, called “Signs for Living with Rose Ayling-Ellis“. In this program, she will instruct a group of senior citizens on British Sign Language (BSL).
Besides that, it’s worth noting that the actor has just made history by co-hosting the afternoon portion of the 2024 Paralympic Games with Clare Balding. This makes her the first individual who is deaf to host a live sports broadcast.
Code of Silence is filming now.
