Rosamund Pike’s “terrifying” near-perfect thriller Hallow Road gets intense first trailer
The nerve-wracking initial trailer for the upcoming thriller starring Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys, titled “Hallow Road,” has been unveiled.
In the video, we find Pike’s character and her spouse, portrayed by Rhys, getting a call from their daughter Alice (Megan McDonnell). Alice is in a state of panic as she shares the news that she has struck someone with her vehicle, and the person appears to be unconscious.
In simpler terms, Alice’s parents hurry to assist her quickly, so no one sees the situation. Meanwhile, Pike’s character tells his daughter to perform chest compressions on the woman and do everything possible to keep her alive.

While the couple moves towards their daughter, Alice, she remains engrossed in her phone conversation. Suddenly, an enigmatic woman appears and offers assistance, yet her intentions might be less than honest.
Under the guidance of director Babak Anvari and screenwriter William Gillies, this movie made its first appearance at SXSW just a month ago. Since then, it’s garnered a Rotten Tomatoes score of 100%, though that has recently dropped to 95%.
Advance viewers who were given a sneak peek at the movie “Hallow Road“, scheduled for release on May 16, have commended its captivating mood, in-depth portrayal of parent-child dynamics, and concise running time of 80 minutes that adds to the intense, pressing feel.
More recently, Pike expressed her thoughts about her intense comeback performance in the play “Inter Alia“, written by Suzie Miller, which explores themes of motherhood and contemporary masculinity.
During my twenties, performing frequently felt completely normal and appropriate to me, but now it’s downright terrifying,” Pike shared with hosts Alex Jones and JB Gill on The One Show in March.
Speaking about the upcoming play, Pike mentioned, “The story revolves around a mother and her son, and as I myself am a father of two sons, it strikes a chord deep within me.” The play is slated to premiere at the National Theatre in London during July.
It’s all about striking a balance in life, especially if you dedicate yourself to the legal profession. But when tough times hit, does the law provide enough support? It’s a complex and thrilling dilemma.”
This version maintains the original idea while using more natural, conversational language that is easier for readers to understand.
Additionally, Miller is known for writing the highly-praised play titled “Prima Facie“, where Jodie Comer portrays a lawyer who defends individuals charged with sexual assault. However, her viewpoint changes dramatically when she experiences an assault herself.
Hallow Road is released in cinemas on May 16.
