Rosamund Pike teases “frightening” return for new role

Actress Rosamund Pike, known for her role in The Wheel of Time series, hinted at a chilling comeback on stage for a fresh character.

On “The One Show,” Saltburn’s famous actor, Pike, shared his experiences coming back to the stage following more than a decade of absence.

This year, Pike will make her first appearance at the National Theatre with a role in “Inter Alia,” a thought-provoking play by Suzie Miller that delves into the themes of motherhood and contemporary masculinity.

Reflecting on her forthcoming stage performance, Gwyneth Pike, whose last theater appearance was in 2010, admitted that she spent much of her early career gracing the stages, yet the idea of returning now feels challenging.

During all my twenties, I spent a considerable amount of time performing on stage, which somehow felt fitting at the time. However, now it’s quite terrifying for me,” Pike conveyed to hosts Alex Jones and JB Gill.

She mentioned that she’ll be acting as a judge in a play written by Suzie Miller, titled “Prima Facie“. She finds this role and the overall project quite thrilling.

Regarding the play, Pike commented: “It deals with a mother nurturing her son, which resonates deeply with me since I’m a father of two boys myself.

Life can be a balancing act, and when you dedicate your life to the legal profession, does the law alone provide enough support during difficult times? That’s a tough and thrilling question.

Previously in the conversation, Pike discussed the ongoing third season of the fantasy series titled “The Wheel of Time.

She expressed about the performance: “We’re incredibly pleased with it. We’re an extremely tight-knit group. We’ve faced numerous challenges together, and without a doubt, this is our most intricate and detailed production.

“And I think it’s the offering we’re most proud of. It’s the most ambitious, and it’s beautiful.”

The play “Inter Alia” will be performed at the Lyttelton Theatre from July 10 to September 13. On September 4, 2025, the National Theatre Live will transmit the performance live to cinemas all across the UK.
