Rosamund Pike believes taking an 18-month break to focus on her children after the success of “Gone Girl” may have hindered her career momentum.
The 47-year-old actress and her partner, 65-year-old Robie Uniacke, have two sons together: 13-year-old Solo and 11-year-old Atom. Robie also has four children from other relationships.
Oh my gosh, Gone Girl? It was EVERYTHING when it came out in 2014! And the craziest part? Rosamund Pike was pregnant with her second son right after filming! I mean, talk about dedication, and looking amazing while doing it! I was totally obsessed with everything about that movie, and finding that out just made me love it even more!
In the movie Gone Girl, Rosamund Pike plays Amy Dunne, who vanishes without a trace on her fifth wedding anniversary.
She starred opposite Ben Affleck who played her husband Nicholas as well as Emily Ratajkowski.
Rosamund Pike recently told The Sunday Times that she didn’t plan her career moves very well and essentially paused her momentum by taking 18 months off after a project.
She explained that after the movie was released, she didn’t focus much on planning her career or networking. She wasn’t concerned with making sure she was in the right place to advance professionally or connect with important people.
After directing ‘Gone Girl’ and becoming pregnant, I had to step back from the usual promotional work and networking. Looking back, I realize I could have approached things more strategically.
I reached a stage where I was qualified for many positions, but I surprisingly removed myself from consideration for a year and a half.
Late last year, Rosamund seemed to accidentally reveal that she and her partner of 16 years, Robie, had secretly gotten married, after calling him her ‘husband’.
The London-born celebrity was seen wearing a silver ring on her ring finger while in Paris for Fashion Week, sparking speculation about her relationship status.
The speculation surrounding Rosamund Pike’s relationship intensified at the New York premiere of “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.” She initially appeared to be wearing a ring on her ring finger while posing for photos, but later moved it to her middle finger.
I’ve always known he’s a family man! Besides his sons with Rosamund, he also has a son from his marriage to Emma Howard, and he and Rose Uniacke, his second wife, have three children together. It’s lovely to see him with such a big, blended family.
Before she married Robie in 2009 and found lasting happiness, Rosamund experienced two important relationships that made her hesitant about marriage.
Her first love was actor Simon Woods, 45, whom she met while both were studying English at Oxford.
They were together for two years before parting when he came to terms with his sexuality.
He later found love and built a life together with Christopher Bailey, who used to be the CEO of Burberry.
Shortly after, she fell for Atonement and Darkest Hour director Joe Wright.
They met on the set of Pride & Prejudice in 2005 and got engaged in 2007, even buying a house together. However, their relationship fell apart while they were making wedding plans.
