Rosamund Pike says goodbye to beloved ‘full of twists’ series following axe

Actress Rosamund Pike has shared behind-the-scenes photos following Amazon Prime’s decision to cancel “The Wheel of Time.

The lead actor from the show, who portrayed Moiraine Damodred as a sorceress and also produced the series, posted pictures on her Instagram Stories for her fans to see.

Pike shared a photo she snapped of her co-star, Sophie Okonedo, dressed as Siuan Sanche, with the caption: “I truly miss my dear one.” (Or alternatively, “I deeply miss my sweetheart.”)

The star acknowledged costume designer Sharon Gilham by saying, “I didn’t realize that as the seasons progressed, Moiraine needed to find a deeper and deeper shade of blue for her costumes.

She shared multiple photos taken inside the makeup room (trailer), giving credit to the designer of makeup, hair, and prosthetics, Davina Lamont, along with a sneak peek of the third season’s scene, which turned out to be the last one aired before the show got cancelled, on her posts.

Captions this photo as ‘Discovering the potency of the sakarnen.’ I’ll surely miss the sensation of tapping into a concept similar to what Robert Jordan described—a profound connection with the rhythm of the cosmos, allowing it to flow within me.

Pike then shared one last picture of Moiraine’s Aes Sedai ring, writing: “I hang up my ring.”

In the previous month, it was revealed that The Wheel of Time would not proceed beyond its third season, which premiered on Prime Video in March.

The television series based on Robert Jordan’s collection of novels experienced widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences globally, yet its third season experienced a decline in U.S. viewership figures.

In 2022, the series was up for a Saturn Award, garnering a dedicated fanbase who initiated a campaign to preserve it following its termination.
