Rosamund Pike Refused to Strip for Bond Audition

Rosamund Pike was asked to strip to her underwear during her James Bond audition.

In the 2002 film Die Another Day, the actress from Hollywood who portrayed Miranda Frost opposite Pierce Brosnan, made it clear that while she had no qualms about steamy scenes in the movie, she wouldn’t agree to them until after she secured the role first.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK magazine, she shared that during the Bond audition process, they requested her to undo the zipper and let go of the dress she was wearing, leaving her standing in her undergarments.

‘And I thought, ”Well, no, I’ll be doing that if I get the part. I won’t be doing that now.”’

She recalled refusing the request, and added: ‘I don’t know what possessed me.’

Next year, I, a fervent admirer, found myself stepping onto the stage, stripping down to bare essentials, as part of the captivating role in Hitchcock Blonde at the age of 46.

In my excitement, I found myself uttering, “Wow, unbelievable! They’ve bestowed upon me an outstanding role, yet it demands some on-screen modesty.

I had the pleasure of being treated to a thoughtful lunch by the director, who wanted to discuss something with me. He asked, “Have you heard about this?

She maintained that the meeting could be skipped since the director was already fully aware of the details, which included a superb part in an exceptional upcoming production.

Rosamund confessed that she couldn’t refuse that specific scene in the play, but she did ask for an alternative moment to be included instead.

In a fervent outburst, I might say: “Following the tragic act of ending my spouse’s life, my on-screen persona strips down to nothing and proceeds to carry his lifeless body inside.

1. “I asked for a bathrobe, and I received it. For the most part, throughout my professional journey, I’ve been dressed more than what was originally written.”

or

2. “I requested a dressing gown, and I was given one. Generally speaking, during my career, I’ve been more covered up than initially portrayed in the script.”

In the previous month, it came to light that Rosamund expressed concerns about possibly harming her co-star Pierce during their love scene filming for ‘Die Another Day’, as she was using nipple tape.

She shared with David Tennant that during our scene, we got close, then moved apart, and when I looked at the body tape and the nipple covers, they were covered in hair. And I thought to myself, ‘Oh my goodness, I’m supposed to wax Pierce’s chest’.

Feeling incredibly embarrassed, I couldn’t help but think, “Oh my goodness, he’s so courageous, and I’m accidentally plucking out his chest hairs with each hug.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me share an amusing incident: Initially, I mistook the plush fur of those elegant rugs for someone’s hairy torso while attempting to give it a polish. It turned out, much to my relief, that it was merely a decoy for the swan bed. A rather humorous misunderstanding indeed!

After discussing her experiences with self-criticism, the importance of storytelling, and revealing her romantic aspects, the Saltburn actress made an appearance on the recent cover issue.

Rosamund, known for portraying renowned figures like physicist Marie Curie and journalist Marie Colvin, discussed the frequently challenging ordeal of embodying real-life characters.

She mentioned that playing many real characters has been quite challenging for her – delving deeply into individuals’ innermost selves in an attempt to authentically represent them and, at times, live their lives more than her own can be emotionally taxing.

‘I need to step away from the cauldron, as it were. I need to go back to reality.’

Over the years, the English actor has been known for playing remarkable biographical characters. When asked about managing a busy timetable, he expressed his desire for some leisurely downtime by saying, ‘Right now, I yearn for moments of tranquil idleness.’

Yet, the Golden Globe winner admitted she is keen to shift into comedy, adding: ‘I’m so romantic.

I have a lively spirit and enjoy laughter, yet I’m convincing as a more somber, dramatic character. Surprisingly, people often fail to perceive my feminine side.
