Roisin Gallagher’s Irish comedy-drama gets renewed at ITV
Roisin Gallagher’s Irish comedy-drama The Dry has been renewed for a third season at ITV.
The third season of the show, originally broadcast in May 2022 and later in March 2024, has been verified for release. This new chapter will only be available to stream on ITVX starting from 2026.
Roisin Gallagher will once again play the character of Shiv Sheridan, a former alcoholic, as her family encounters their most significant hurdle yet. An enormous family secret, when revealed, upsets the balance for everyone.
In the midst of these intense emotions, the Sheridan family finds themselves confronting the reality that change is unavoidable.
While the family struggles to create fresh beginnings against the shadows of old deceits, harmful behaviors gradually manifest. It seems like Shiv may be hesitant to confront some stark realities.
In the final episode of the series, Shiv comes to understand that despite blaming her family, past relationships, and alcohol, perhaps the true source of her problems could be…simply herself.
The new season will once again be written by Nancy Harris and directed by Paddy Breathnach.
Harris expressed his genuine excitement as “The Dry” is set to return with another installment featuring Shiv and the Sheridan family. Working alongside Paddy Breathnach, Emma Norton, and such a talented cast has been an absolute pleasure in bringing this tale to life.

Seasons 1 and 2 of “The Dry” can now be streamed on ITVX. You’ll be able to watch season 3 on this platform starting from 2026.
